"Hey.." I asked worriedly while I followed him, "where are we going?"
He did not respond. As soon as we were out, he opened the passenger seat and made me sit. And then he rounded the car to take the driver seat.
He started the car and in the next second we were driving down the street at the speed of over eighty. It was almost midnight and my worry was increasing with every passing minute. Rush's anger was scaring me.
After barely five minutes we came to a stop. He climbed out of the seat aggressively. His anger was scaring me.
He rounded the car to come to me but I was already fidgeting with the seat belt to take it off.
He opened my side of the door and started to push my fingers aside to open the seat belt.
"I will do it!" I snapped at him and pushed his hands aside.
As soon as his hands were off, I opened the clutch and pushed the seat belt away.
He grabbed my hand, pulled me out of the car and slammed the door shut. Without locking the car we were storming forward.
I lifted up my head to see where we were going and my heart instantly started thudding hard in my chest.
We were at the pack house.
My steps instantly halted. I pulled at his grip on my hand,
"I do not want to go inside." I pleaded.
"I can not leave you out here alone. You just saw what happened to our house. I am worried about your safety." He muttered without stopping and kept dragging me along with him.
I kept pulling at his hold on mine but he did not loosen it. I was scared and worried and utterly mortified. I was not ready to face them together yet. I was not ready to face Liam yet.
"Please, Rush." I begged but he was deaf to my voice.
We crossed the threshold and soon we were walking through the hall towards the backside. Rush had probably sensed where Liam was.
"Let me stay here." I said desperately. "I will not move from here, I promise."
He ignored my plea and dragged me to the end of the hall to a giant wooden gate. Without knocking, Rush slammed open the door.
And there he was in front of me, sitting in a chair across a large table.
Liam's eyes fell upon us. His gaze first collided with Rush's and then came to rest upon me.
"Why are you trying to fuck up our lives?" Rush roared.
I forcefully pulled my hand out of Rush's grasp and folded them over my chest. I could not leave Rush here alone now that we were here.
At Rush's aggressive roar, instead of looking worried or confused Liam appeared to be bored.
"What do you want?" He muttered as his eyes went from me to Rush while he twirled a pen in between his fingers.
I could feel Rush's anger rising even more with Liam's indifferent voice.
"Do not play so dumb now!" Rush seethed and lurched forward to grab the opposite end of the table that Liam was sitting across,
"If you do not want to see us, then spat the words out, you fucking motherfucker! Do not try to ruin my home by smashing everything inside like fucking trash."
Surprise, more like shock flashed through Liam's eyes. But the look was gone as soon as it had come.
"Get out of my office. I do not know what you are talking about nor do I want to know." He sighed and picked up his phone to scroll through it.
Liam's careless attitude broke the hold of patience that Rush had over himself. I could say so because as soon as the words were out of Liam's mouth, Rush's body started to transform.
His nails turned into claws, his eyes turned yellow, and I suddenly was not feeling safe.
I had never seen him and Liam in their wolf form. And this outrage that had taken over Rush was scaring me.
"Rush.." I whispered in fear and took a step towards him.
Before I could say another word, Rush tightened his hold on the table and flipped it aside so harshly that it flew across the room and smashed everything that came in its way.
Glasses and wood flew everywhere in the room. A shriek left my lips and I covered my ears with my hands.
But Rush did not turn back or stop to look at me. Instead, he lunged at Liam.
Half way through his jump he turned into his brown coloured wolf and attacked Liam.
Liam was also prepared. As soon as Rush attacked him, the honey coloured wolf took over his human form and attacked Rush.
I was not only scared.
I was horrified.
My body was trembling and my hands were shaking. Both of the wolves were taking swipes at each other in an attempt to overpower the other. The floor had suddenly started to get covered in spilt blood.
"Stopstopstopstop..." I started repeating the words again and again. The anxiety and fear had hit me so hard that I lost control over my own self.
The only ones that I had left in my life to call my own were fighting in front of me viciously. I had never seen them turn into wolves.
Were they going to kill each other?
Was I going to see the death of more people that were left to call my own?
I was shivering badly. I stumbled on my feet. The slippers that I was wearing came off as I tripped over something hard.
My feet landed on glass but I was too shocked and afraid to feel any pain. I kept stumbling backwards while glass and pieces of small wood dug inside my feet more.
I could not breathe anymore. I was having an anxiety attack but Rush and Liam were too busy fighting to notice me.
As soon as my feet crossed the threshold of the room, I ran.
