Ah, the Sports Festival.
A time of redemption, glory, fame, loss, sadness and joy, angst and some good old rivalry.
Or in my case, a time to focus on something other than the fact that Katsuki and I haven't talked for a week.
Kirishima has been absolutely amazing with comforting me, and the other Bakusquad members have been super supportive as well, but I guess it takes more than that to shake the sick feeling in my gut every time we pass each other in the corridor in silence.
It still hurts.
But then again, you can't get over these things easily. Katsuki isn't the type of person you can just forget you ever met. Half because of his memorable persona, half because we are literally in the same class.
Shit. It sounds like I'm getting over a breakup or something.
Although, to be fair it's like that.
Applaud thunders through the stadium as the students pour out, I among them, deciding to stick my ass firmly next to Midoriya. He's the kind of guy I can rely on.
Besides, Kirishima's with Katsuki, and as much as I want that boy all to myself, that would be stupid and selfish.
"Wow, look at all of those people! So much more than last year!" Midoriya comments, a smile emblazoned on his freckled face.
"At least we don't have an R rated hero as our umpire this year," I refer to Snipe, who will be our referee, if you must. "Some heroes acTuaLlY dress properly, which is reassuring."
Midoriya blinks, before performing his winning, closed eyes smile at its best standard; "You're really funny, (Y/N)... good luck! I hope that you get far!"
"You too, Midoriya!" I reply, grinning.
This prEcIOus ChIlD-
MUST PROTECC-
My train of thought yeets itself off its tracks as Snipe wishes us luck before announcing the first trial.
My stomach spins with the wheel, as our fate is chosen.
A maze.
A fucking labyrinth.
Oh Jesus take the wheel, sell my belongings and plan my funeral because there's no way in hell I'm making it out alive.
-----
"On your marks!"
I am upon my mark.
"Get set!"
I have set myself.
"Go!"
Away.
I rush forwards, and into the maze, the walls as high as giants, and my confidence the size of roughly a coat hanger.
When I won against Todoroki, it was the size of a Samsung television.
That says a lot.
I watch as the group of students slowly disperse, going their separate ways, and I too move away from any company.
The traps hidden in various walls make frequent appearances, but this is where my quirk becomes useful; I can slow down anything within a 5 km circle, and I know how to adjust the lengths.
Dodging most of the obstacles, I try pick up my pace, but I can't help the grin spreading across my face, as a stray ray of sunlight hits my face.
That means I'm close, the sun was previously blocked by the goddamn massive walls.
However I blink in surprise, as I near the exit. Todoroki's ice is evident, and quite a few people are just... standing around.
One of them being Katsuki.
I can't help but slow down and frown as I pass him, and then my eyes widen.
It's not just him.
Class 1-A's top students are hanging around like zombies, their eyes so lifeless it sends shivers down my spine.
What the fuck?
My face darkens. Who did this?
"And coming in at an amazing fifth place, is (Y/N) (L/N) with a determined face that could give All Might the creeps!"
Wait-
WHAT??
Out of shock, I fall slap bang on my face, hitting the ground hard.
I raise my head, and grumble, "At least I'm over the finish line..." my face lights up, "I came fifth!"
I scramble to my feet and smile widely; I fuckin killed it!
YEET!
"(Y/N)!" I turn to see Midoriya and Kirishima huffing and puffing behind me. "Well done!" Midoriya compliments, his smile blinding.
"Thanks, bruh!" I yell, not giving a fuck about who hears. However, I turn my gaze back to the others, "What's up with them?"
"Oh... Shinsou must've used his quirk..." Midoriya mutters, Katsuki staring at the finish line catches his attention almost immediately.
"The general studies guy you faced against last year?" I ask, remembering his quirk to be mind control. I turn back to my classmates and wince, "Ouch. That's... horrible... how could he use people like that?" I frown, my unwanted concern for Katsuki overshadowing my rational thought.
"It's unmanly," Kirishima states a matter-of-factly.
"You said it, Kirishima," I reply, I can't help but glare slightly at Shinsou.
But I will admit, that was dang clever of him.
Kirishima, Midoriya and I all turn around at the sound of our classmates slowly coming out of their daze.
"Poor fuckers," I sigh. I make to leave when a voice tears through my ear and almost busts my skull.
"WHERE IS THAT PURPLE HAIRED CAT FACED FUCKER?? I'M GOING TO RIP HIS FUCKING DICK OFF!!"
The sight of Katsuki with an expression of striking similarity to the one he bore on the podium of last year's Sports Festival is enough to make anyone below ten years old violently piss their pants.
Jesus, that's scary.
But something else is bothering me...
How is he going to cut his dick off??
Is he going to do it surgically or something?
Alright, I'll shut up now.
A/n: I've decided to put pictures now, you're welcome
