Zayn, Harry and Niall are in the hall going over their next exhibition dates when Liam comes back from the night shift.

“Hey, Li-“ before Niall can complete, Liam slams his door close, “-am” he softly adds, getting back at Zayn, “What crawled up his ass and died?”

Zayn shrugs, checking his camera rolls, “I will wrap my work at the studio-“ he is about to stand when Harry grabs his elbow and pulls him back.

“No!! You’re working nonstop from last 2 days, let’s do nothing for a while”

“We went out last night”, Zayn points, rolling his eyes as tries to stand again but this time Niall grabs his jacket and drops him back on the floor.

“Speak up” Niall orders, “Is it about Liam?”

“Why will it be?”

“Because it always is?” Harry suggests.

“I asked him out,” Zayn says, trying to act as I bothered as he can as he looks between two curious guys, “and he rejected me”

“Bullshit” Niall scoffs, “like someone in their right senses will reject you”

Zayn weakly smiles as he fondly shakes his head, “it happened”

“I can talk to Liam-“

“About what?” Zayn fairly laughs, “hey I am good, just going through a tough divorce, I guess” he tries laughing again but Niall and Harry are looking that the laugh fades in his throat, “I am good, I promise”

“We are here for you, Zee” Niall firmly grabs his shoulder, all their eyes everting when Liam comes out of his room.

“I am going out for dinner”, Liam informs particularly to no one, “I have a date”

Harry draws his eyebrows together, “Date? But you’re still married to Zayn”

“Let him be, Haz” Zayn insists.

“So what? This marriage means nothing to me, it never did” Liam shrugs, “I can date whoever I want, it was in our contract deal”

“The same contract you screwed over and over again?” Niall asks, smirking when Liam's face drops, eyes no longer warm.

“I won’t be home tonight, maybe spend the night at Christian's”

“Christian? Where have I heard this name?” Niall wonders.

“The bloke who’s nose Louis broke?”

“yeah” Liam’s lip turns into a thin line, “it was a misunderstanding”

“Didn’t he cheat on you?”

“Louis said you literally caught him in the act”
