Chapter 2: The Blue Lion (Part 2)

Keith's POV:

I smirked, running up to the magnificent lion in front of us. I placed my hand against the shield, staring up at the lion's eyes. For a moment, it looked like it was looking passed me. So I turned, and Lance was standing right next to me. He seemed to be in a trance, staring at the lion.

I sighed, taking his hand. He looked at me shocked as he tried to pull away. I just yanked him forward and placed his hand against the shield. It immediately dropped.

"W-woah." he whispered, and I smirked again. I was about to say something, but them I suddenly got a vision. Lions, five of them. They were coming together to for a giant robot. The word Voltron echoed in my mind. "Woah. Did everyone else just see that?" Lance asked, and I nodded, staring at the lion.

"Voltron is a robot! Votron is a huge, awesome robot!" Hunk cried out.

"And this lion isn't the only one. You guys, we can't let those aliens get their hands on this." Pidge said, and I took a hesitant step back. I couldn't help it, I felt like I shouldn't be anywhere near them. Without warning, Lance ran forward and into the lion through a door at the mouth. I waited for a moment before running after him.

"Lance?" He was sitting at the helm of the lion, hands placed on some controls. Then the lion lit up. Once the symbols popped up onto the dashboard, I gasped. "Altean?" Before I could react, the others came running in.

"Heheh, well? Shall we see what she can do?" Lance said with a huge grin on his face.

Wait, I'm not sure you should-" "Too late."

Lance's POV:

The moment the lion's console lit up, I almost gasped. "Al- altean? It's from Altea? What!?" Before I could pull away from the controls, the others ran in. Not wanting to seem too suspicious, I immediately threw on a grin, gripping the handles.

"Heheh, Well? Shall we see what she can do?"

"Wait, I'm not sure you should-" Before Keith could finish, I threw the controls forward. The lion immediately blasted up and out of the caves.

"Wooohooo!" I yelled excitedly, starting to fly us around the desert.

"Aahh! Lance! What are you doing!?" Shiro yelled, gripping onto my chair for dear life.

"I don't know! I haven't exactly had training flying her!" I yelled over their screams, pulling back and slowing us down.

"Ugh! Can we get out now!? I'm not sure I can take any more of this!" Hunk pleaded, but then the lion's systems went red. "What's that!?" Hunk yelled, moving back. Pidge stepped up and looked over the screen.

"It looks like there's an alien battleship approaching earth. You guys, we have to get rid of them!" Just as Shiro and Keith started mumbling to each other, I started hearing a voice in the back of my mind.

"Lance? Is that your name?" I pause in hesitance.

"Y-yeah?"

"Hello, I am the blue lion. Listen, I can assist you in taking out that ship. But, afterwards I must return home."

"Home? Do you mean the cave?"

"No, I mean the castle of lions. So? Are you going to accept?"

I take a moment to glance at the humans around me, stopping on Keith. He seemed to be ready to fight anything. I took a deep breath.

"I'm in."
