Chapter 14: Perspectives (Part 2)

Keith's POV:

Lance and I walked into Blue's hanger. He let my hand go and walked over to the wall on the right. He placed his hand on it, and it disappeared, revealing Red's hanger.

"Woah, cool." He looked back at me and smiled.

"You'd be surprised at what this ship can do." he said, walking over to Blue. I went to walk over to Red, but she dropped her barrier and walked over to Blue's hanger. She and Blue curled up together, Red resting her head on top of Blue's, protectively. Then they wrapped their tails together and snuggled.

"Wow. Do they do this a lot?" I asked, and Lance laughed.

"Only when we're not in the room with them. This is new." he replied. He walked over and sat against Blue's paw. I hesitantly followed and sat next to him.

"So, what are you hiding from everyone?" I asked without thinking. He glanced at me, then the door, then to his hands.

"I'm not sure I'm ready to tell." he said quietly. I smiled at him kindly.

"I wasn't either, but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I doubt whatever you're hiding is as bad as what I'm still hiding." I said, and he looked at me.

"Mine isn't bad, I just... I don't know. I don't want anyone treating me differently." he explained, and I nodded.

"Well, you can trust I won't, whenever you decide to say." I promised, and he smiled at me.

"Will you just kiss him already?" Red purred, and I went wide eyed.

"Red! NO! What is wrong with you!?" I yelled, and I turned away from Lance to hide my apparent blush. "Dammit!"

Lance's POV:

"Will you just kiss him already? The tension between you two is getting thick!" Blue yelled in my mind, and I went wide eyed, turning away from Keith.

"What the quiznack, Blue! We were having a bonding moment!" I yelled at her, and I could hear her snickering at me. I slowly turned and looked at Keith, and he was turning to look back at me. He was as red as I felt.

"Um... we... we should probably go and, uh... see what we're going to do with Sendak." he said, getting up nervously. I nodded and hurried to my feet. We awkwardly left the hanger and stood in silence in the elevator.

"...Did Red-?"

"Yeah."

"...and Blue said-"

"Most likely."

We went silent again and waited. I was overheating with how hard I was blushing. As soon as the elevator opened, I rushed to get out. But, so did he. We tried to squeeze out at the same time, but I ended up tripping over his foot.

"Woah!" Out of instinct, I grabbed his arm to try to catch myself. I just ended up pulling him down on top of me. He landed hard, knocking the wind out of me. "Shit, sorry." I said, quickly trying to get up, resulting in me ramming my forehead into his nose.

"Ow! Shit. Okay, hang on." he said, holding his nose as he got up. He held out his hand and helped me up. "You okay?" he asked, and I raised a brow.

"I just crunched your nose and you're worried about me?" I asked with a smirk. He smiled back.

"Just checking." he said, nudging me and walking passed.
