Chapter 7: Team Bonding (Part 1)

Keith's POV:

It didn't take us long to take out the ship, Lance was really taking a lot of anger out on it. I mean, I was too, but he was demolishing it. I seriously would've thought we would've needed to form Voltron to take it out.

Anyway, Allura congratulated everybody on our first successful battle. Then we gathered our lions, and Shiro finally got his lion. After awhile, Allura gave everyone rooms and some spare clothes. Shiro said he would explain to Pidge how we knew it was her, so I just went to my room.

I ate, showered, and knew exactly what to do next. Bond with red. As soon as that thought came, I could feel a purring in my mind, and I smiled. I headed straight for red's hanger, not caring that I was about to spill all of my secrets to a sentient robot lion.

I walked inside and looked at her. Her particle barrier was up, and that made me smile. "So, can I come in? I'd like for us to get to know each other." I said, waiting patiently. I heard her purr more, and she opened a section of the barrier.

I nodded respectfully and walked inside. She closed the barrier again, and I sat down in front of her. "So, I'm not coming inside because I'm pretty sure you'd boot me out for what I'm going to tell you. I'll say what I need to say, and then you can choose to keep me as your paladin or not. Alright?" Surprisingly, she purred as she moved to lay down in front of me. She still held her head high and proud. I exhaled, "Alright." I thought for a moment to see where to begin.

"I... guess I'll start with who I really am and who I'm related to." ... I swear, I could see her glare at me right there. "Um, okay. So, my real name is Kov, I am part human... part galran, and part altean." I paused, she didn't react. "M... my mother is Krolia, daughter to Emperor Zarkon and Honerva, currently known as Haggar."

Lance's POV:

"Blue! I'm back!" I yelled as I walked into the hanger with a bucket, a sponge, and some altean cleaning fluid. She immediately dropped her particle barrier and laid down. "Good girl. You know where the water hose is?" I asked, and she looked behind me. I looked, and there was an altean symbol on the wall meaning water.

"Ah. Right." I walked over and hovered my hand over the symbol. That section of wall disappeared and I grabbed the hose, pulling it over to Blue. "Alright, blue. Let's clean you up." I said, placing my thumb on the water symbol on the hose so the water would start spraying Blue.

"Are you going to talk to me?" Blue asked, and I looked at her.

"Yeah, I am." I take a minute to find where to start. "So, you know how I'm a pureblood altean?" I asked, and she purred in response. "Right. Well, my mom's name is Kendra. I don't know who my father is, I don't really care. My altean name is Lamnis, but I don't like it, so don't call me that please.

"My mom and I went to Earth when I was just a newborn. Before that, we lived on a hidden planet in the Quantum Abyss. I don't know which one. We escaped when my mom stole a ship and opened a wormhole as far away as possible. We crashed on Earth then. Lotor, son of Zarkon, created that place and is currently in control of the alteans trapped there.

"My mom didn't know exactly what he was doing with the alteans. But whatever it was was killing them. That's why we left. Is... is being able to open wormholes a common thing for alteans?" I asked, looking up at her from where I was on her back.

"No. That ability is reserved for those of royal blood only. Your mother must not have known that." I nodded, continuing to was her back.

"Blue? The sword. What am I supposed to do?"
