Keith's POV:

"Uh, what is it?" Lance asked, and I rolled my eyes.

"How am I supposed to know? The guy who made it is dead. Remember?" I replied, hovering my hand over it.

"Can you feel anything?" Allura asked, and I nodded.

"It's weird. I can feel the power it holds, but... its dormant. Like... like the lions. Blue was dormant until Lance was near. Same with the others. What this thing is, it needs a bond with someone to work. And it obviously has to be a galra because only a galra can use it." I explained, pulling my hand away and shifting back. The second I was completely human looking again, it stopped glowing, looking like a ruby.

"I guess it is clear who we're bonding it to." Allura said, sitting up straight. I quickly looked at her wide eyed. She was looking at me knowingly.

"Oh no. No no no no. That is a bad idea." I said, scooting away from it.

"Why?" She asked, folding her arms.

"Because, I... Shiro, you know why. Help me out here!" I pleaded, begging him to say no.

"I know Keith, but that's also exactly why you are the right person to bond to it. You are most capable of keeping it safe." he said, and I facepalmed.

"That is not what I wanted you to say." I grumbled. I took a deep breath and looked back at Allura. "Fine, but I'm going to need some help, Allura. Whoever made this knew what they were doing. It'll only bond if a royal altean or druid gives it a little kick. I think this was meant for Zarkon and Haggar." I said, and she looked shocked.

Lance's POV:

"M-me? But... I've never done an energy transference before. What if I mess it up?" Allura asked in panic.

"Well, who else am I going to ask? You're the only royal altean on board." Keith said, and I glanced at Coran. He looked at me, and he seemed to want me to say something. I gently shook my head, and he looked disappointed as he looked back to Allura and Keith.

"Please, Allura. I know you can do it. All it takes is a little focus. It's like what you're doing where you create a wormhole. Just a smaller version of that now. Okay?" Keith said, and I held back a smile. "That really is what it is." I thought as Allura sighed.

"Fine. I'll do it." She got up and walked around to Keith. He stood up, shifting back to galra, and the stone started glowing again. Keith picked it up and turned to Allura.

"Now, don't touch it, just give it a little kick." Keith said calmly, and she nodded. As she hovered her hand over the stone and closed her eyes, I paid close attention. I wanted to make sure she didn't lose control. See, unlike her, I've done this a couple times, so if anything goes wrong... I'll be forced to jump in. Forced to reveal myself. But... it's better than letting her explode. Allura's marks began to glow, and I could see the quintessence start to leave her body.

"Okay. Good. Not too much, okay?" Keith said, and I subconsciously nodded. The quintessence started to enter the stone, and it started glowing very brightly, and Keith flinched, closing his eyes shut. "Okay. That's enough!" he said hurriedly.

Allura jumped back, and the glowing died back down to its normal brightness. Keith hovered his unoccupied hand over to the pieces of the box on the table, and some began to float. The stone started floating as well, and he brought them together.

"Keith?"

"Shh!" "Okay, now he's pissing me off." The pieces started connecting to the stone, and when he was done, it was a pendant. The glowing stopped completely, and I noticed that he was still in galra form.

"So, anybody got some string? Or a chain?"
