I enter the principal office and sit down, Dylan was already there waitingfor her to get off the phone with Miss George presumably and judging by the scowl on her face I realise we are in big trouble. While I'm fidgeting on my seat, Dylan looked impatient
When she's done with her call, she faces me and stretches out her hand "The note Miss Thorne"
I hand over the note and she reads the content for a minute then looks at us both in a way that is meant to be intimidating
"Miss Thorne, why were you and Mister Wallace disrupting a class?"
"I didn't do anything Mrs Bourne" I start
"Really?? Because from what I've heard and read, you were threatening and screaming profanities at Mr Wallace"
That's definitely exaggerated
"Dylan started it ma'am"
"What are you? Are you in kindergarten or something?" She countered
Dylan looked like he was going to burst into laughter and my face was red from anger because obviously everyone thinks it's my fault when it's not.
"Ma'am he was throwing notes on my desk and insulting me"
"With due respect, Miss Thorne, I expected better from you. You could have easily called the attention of the teacher to this"
Well this is what taking Sophie's advice has landed me into. I keep mute after that and she turns to Dylan
"And you Mister Wallace, I've told you times without number to sit up straight when you're in my office" At that Dylan immediately changed his posture
"Sorry ma'am"
"Good"
"Now, this is not the first time I've heard about the both of you arguing in the school and I understand that Mr Wallace here is the first to begin the argument" she pauses and looks at us both
"Now I'm tired of hearing reports here and there. Starting from today, you both will work on settling whatever conflict is between you. I want you both will learn how to work together and communicate better so I've decided that after school everyday the both of you will wait behind and clean the cafe. If I ever find out that you don't clean the cafe or I hear anything report of you two fighting anywhere in the school premises, you will be suspended for two weeks. I'm sure you won't like that on your school record and I know you are both aiming for good schools so you better sit up."
What the actual fuck
"What!!! You can't do that" we both say at once
"Yes I can and you are going to be working together. You can go now, make sure you wait after school"
"Principal..... " I start to say but she cut me off
"I don't want to hear another word. Now get out of my office unless you want me to call you parents"
I storm out of the office and hear as Dylan makes sure to slam the door on his way out.
How does she expect me to work with Dylan. We can barely stand each other for an hour not to talk of how long it will take to clean up the cafe.
I get to the hallway and meet my friends on their way to the cafe. I notice they are looking at me expectantly, I guess they've already heard about my confrontation with Dylan.
"Word travels fast around here especially when it involves one of the three"
So I tell them everything that happened from my class down to the punishment
"Now that's what we are talking about" exclaims Soph when I get to the insults while Caleb looked amused "tough luck with the punishment though. I don't think you and Dylan can be in a room without breaking each others head" Sophie says while gesturing to Dylan and his group sitting on their table.
"Don't worry, its gonna be fine okay. You just have to pretend like you are getting along and you will be off the hook in no time " Caleb says
Really?? I raise a brow at Caleb. "Was that supposed to help in any way?" I ask
"Hey I was just trying to help. At least I'm better than Soph she's not helping at all" he says and Soph smacked him on the head.
They start bickering again and I'm just annoyed, so I stand up without eating my food
"I'm not in a good mood. I'll text you guys when I'm done with my punishment. Don't wait for me" I wave bye and leave the cafeteria.
Sophie looks at my plate "She barely touched her food, she must be really upset and we didn't help at all" she glares at Caleb
"Let's just give her space okay?"
"Sure"
As I move down the corridor I hear footsteps behind me, I turn around to look and I see mother fucking Dylan.
"What do you want" I cross my hand over my chest and glare at him
"Must you always be so uptight. As you know we are supposed to work in cafe after school and you better be early so we can get our shit done and get the fuck out of there. Don'tbe late or you get your ass whooped" Before I can think of a comeback, he turns around and shout "Goodbye Chipmunk, see your ugly face later" he chuckles and leaves
Did he just call me a chipmunk?? Whose ass does he want to whoop?? He's so annoying, maybe we can strike a deal and pretend to be nice to each other until this stuff is over, I glare at the direction he went once more. I'm pretty sure he will want to drag this out for a longer period just to frustrate me. I sigh and continue with my walk more enranged than before. I will need more patience than ever for this one and for the first time in my life I'm so not looking forward to hearing the closing bell.
