The hate game

As I walk into school the next day I have eyes following me everywhere I go and I'm busy wondering what's going on. I look around for my besties and I see them walking up to them, I look at them with raised brows.

"Well it looks like you've become a mini celebrity. Apparently someone spotted you with Dylan yesterday and it has circulated round the school" Sophia says

"It is even on social media, I don't understand why they are all making it a big deal. Some people are calling you a leech, that u can't seem to get away from Dylan but your friend got in the way and warned everybody who were going to say nasty things to you to back off or get their butts kicked" Caleb finishes up for her.

I shake my head, highschool children. I look forward ignoring all the stares I'm getting now that I know the reason for the looks.

"Mind filling me up on what's going on between you and Dylan, I thought you hated him" Caleb asks with raised brows.

Before I can reply, someone calls my name and I turn so does the whole school. I know the voice and before I can say Jack Robinson, he pulls me into a hug and ruffles my hair, I'm confused at this gesture but I still smile at him.

He slings his hand over my shoulder and continues to walk with me "How are you today???" He asks and I raise my brows at him.

"What??" He looks at me with an innocent face "Can't I greet my new friend in the hallway" he asks

"I never said anything like that but you didn't have to make it so elaborate by hugging me for everyone in the school to see. You do know the talk that's going round school and I'm bound to make enemies I haven't had since I have been in this school" I pour out non stop and he laughs at me.

I look at him with a raised brow "Well for one thing Chipmunk, I don't care about what they have to say and if anyone bullies you or say anything mean to you let me know cause I'm here to protect you" he smirks at me and walk away to meet his friends at the other end all of the hallway and I continue to stare at him until I hear someone cough at my back.

I turn around and see my besties looking at me with annoyance and I go red with mortification "I am so sorry for forgetting about you guys, he's so frustrating you know. I'm really sorry, I won't do it again I promise" I say sheepishly.

"No problem babe but you have to fill us in on when you and him got this cozy which will be later because we have class now" Caleb says and we say our goodbyes and move to our various classes.
