"Hey Chipmunk" I groan as I enter the Cafe and hear the stupid nickname he gave me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask him. He hasn't been here for like two weeks now. Not that I'm complaining, I get occasional help from my friends and I get peace of mind during classes now.
"Shouldn't I be here?"
"You just realised that?" I raise my brow
"Oh please don't be sassy Chipmunk. It doesn't look nice on you"
I sigh and drop my bag at its usual spot.
"Are you here to help or just to make my life hell?"
"I've been a good boy for what? 2 weeks now. I deserve some kind of reward, don't I?"
I scoff and mutter under my breath "good indeed"
"I didn't quite catch you little one"
"Just get the hell out of my way"
"Why do you always look pissed when I'm around? I'm actually here to help, show some gratitude. To be honest, I thought you would have cracked now and would have gone singing to the Principal"
"I'm not a snitch"
"Good to know "
"Besides I'm benefitting from it"
"That's true"
"So what do you need me to do?"
I stop and stare at him for a while
"You're really helping???"
"Do you have a thick skull?? I already said that like one million times"
I walk up to him and touch his face "Who are you? What have you done to Dylan? Can you please pinch me?"
"C'mon Chipmunk" he shoves my hands "what's all these theatrics for? Be serious before I change my mind" he says
"Okay okay" I move away from him "how about a truce? Just for today?"
"We already have an unspoken truce. That's why I haven't said a thing to you since the punishment"
"Well that's true but this is different"
"We'll work together, no insults, no fighting, no unnecessary teasing, no fighting." I push my hand forward at him "What do you think about that?"
He looks at my hand for a while then walks to his bag "Now I've changed my mind"
"Really?" I ask him exasperated. I can't I believed he was here to help.
"I warned you but you didn't listen. I'm a man of my words" he picks up his bag and starts to leave
"Is it that bad to just work in silence?" He scream at him retreating back
"Where's the fun in all this if I can't tease you"
"Did it ever occur that I might not like your teasing"
"That's what makes it more fun. I rather do clean up alone than clean in silence " he says
I seize the opportunity at that moment
"Then cleanup alone. I'll excuse you" I say picking up my bag "I have something to do anyways"
Before he can say anything I'm out of the door and I pat his shoulder on his way out
"You have the room all to yourself. Knock yourself out"
I practically run out of the school. I'm already making plans in my in my head. A bowl of ice cream, a nice long bath and a good book or movie to complete my day.
