The hate game

I've gone a whole week without talking to my besties. I've been ignoring their calls and avoiding them at school. I'm just not ready to face them and I don't even know how to act with them being together. It's all just confusing and really lonely

At least, I didn't  have to deal with Dylan all week.

He came at me the other day for leaving him to sleep in the cafe. He cornered me on my way to the Cafe

"You forgot to wake me up"

"I forgot to wake you up?"

"Yes, yesterday.  You left me to sleep over there." He said pointing at the spot he sat yesterday

"I'm sorry, is that my responsibility?"

"What the fuck do you mean by that?"

I just ignored him and walked into the cafe.

"What if I got locked in?"

"Well you weren't and once again it's none of my business, I'm not your nanny." I say without glancing at him

"I would have been if someone didn't have the good sense to wake me up"

"Then congratulations, someone woke you."

"It was the security man while he was going on his last round before locking up by 6!!"

"So?"

"So? Really? So? That's all you're going to say? No apologies?"

I raise my brow at him.

"Was it some kind of revenge?"

I sigh "What if it is?"

He doesn't say anything so I continue.

"Look Dylan, I didn't sign up for any of this, I don't want to be in your company anymore than you do. I have no other choice, so please try not to go crazy on me all the time. I know you aren't going to help so why don't you find something to do and leave me in peace, oh and try not to fall asleep again" I smile at him

He stared at me angrily for few seconds and he walked out of the cafe. I haven't seen him since then and I've been grateful for this although I'm a little worried that the Principal will find out

It is finally Friday and It's a relief.

No school, no cleanup duty, nothing, just lazing around my house and stuffing my face with food. Pure bliss!!

I trudge into the cafe and I decide to sit down for a minute.

"Man I can't wait for the day to be over. I have this horrible headache, it's killing me" I say to the four walls of the Cafe "I'll just rest for a second and then get this over with"

One second turned into minutes or hours, I don't know, I must have fallen asleep.

"How Ironic " I chuckle to myself then stopped, did I just hear my name or am I still sleeping?

"Ash?" I heard it again. I jump up from my seat and look up

"Are you okay babes?"

"Soph?"

"Duhh"

"What.."

"Hey! I'm also here" Caleb interrupts

Soph rolls her eyes

I look around and see that the Cafe is clean.

"Did you guys clean up this place?" I ask softly

"Well we came looking for you and found you in dreamland with this place still looking like a mess. Besides where's the idiot that's supposed to be helping you?" Says Soph

"Well...."

"Ash, does that bastard always leave you to clean the cafeteria alone" Caleb cuts me off again

"Yeahh something like that,I might have passed him off a little" I don't why I'm trying to defend him.

"Girlll, why are you trying to defend that Son of a bitch?" Sophie knows me too well

"If I lay my hands on him" Caleb starts

"Caleb it's actually cool. At least I don't have to deal with his bullshit" I say

"Well that's something but then how did you handle all this by yourself?" Soph asks

I shrug "Why can't I handle it? I can handle it"

"Yeah right, that's why you were passed out on that table like it was your bed"

"Soph!"

"What is it Caleb? You know I'm right. Someone needs to tell her the truth"

"That's not why we are here though" Caleb says to me

"Okay so babe" Soph walks up to me and hold my hands

"You know I love you and I'll do anything for you, hell I'll breakup with Cay now if you want me to."

"What!"

"You will?" I ask

"Actually no, but you get my point though." I laugh and nod my head.

Caleb let's out a sigh of relief and I laugh again.

"I'm really sorry that I hid, no, that we hid our relationship from you. This week has been hell for me and I've made it hell for Caleb too, just forgive us already" Soph continues

"Soph has used up all the words but I hope you know that I'm really really sorry. Probably more sorry than her"

I look up at the both of them with a smile on my face "It's okay, I owe you guys an apology too. I should have been happy for you both and I should  have seen it coming. You guys deserve to be happy and I'm sorry for behaving like a bitch" I say to both of them

"Yeah that's the word" Sophie murmurs and pulls me into a hug. "I missed you so much girl"

"I missed you too" I hug her back "Caleb you too"

"Group hug?"

"Come on" we both say and he puts his arms around us.

We pull away and I grab my bag from the chair

As we walk towards the door I turn to them and say "By the way, no kissing or whatever you  two do around me okay?" I say.

"Aye Aye Captain"

"Whatever, wasn't planning on it"

"So who's up for some Celebratory dinner?" I ask them.

"Caleb is paying" Soph immediately adds.

"Of course"

Caleb groans while Soph and I are cackling.

This is the best have felt throughout this week.

"See you guys at 6" I say and wave to them as I climb into my car.
