"Hey. . . Killua. . . " Two started tentatively. Killua looked next to him to face a worried-looking Two. They had to continue to run through a forest with dangerous wildlife.
"Yeah?"
"Do you know where Gon went?" she asked. Killua turned his head to his other side, but he wasn't there. He frowned as he turned back to face Two.
"I don't know. I didn't even notice he left," he muttered, looking down at the ground. Another possible friend lost, was his only thought. He momentarily looked back up and stole a glance at the girl beside him. Well, at least I have her.
The white-haired boy thought that she was very attentive to notice that Gon wasn't beside him when he couldn't himself, but he was wrong. Two was looking at his face before she even noticed, even though she should've been looking at the path ahead of her. Really, she was being irresponsible, but he was too tempting. She only noticed Gon was missing when she glanced past him.
Sighing, Two continued on the path like normal, making sure to actually keep her eyes on it. Though, it didn't help too much, since she and Killua still got caught in a couple animal traps. They even got swallowed by a giant frog. Somehow, the pair made it to the clearing, large and open.
"We're here! But, I don't see Gon anywhere. . . " Killua trailed off, running behind Two, who was heading towards a large tree near the edge of the clearing. She plopped down at the base of the tree before responding.
"Yeah, but if he does happen to show up, we can see him from up here." Two pointed to the landscape in front of her. They were on a slight hill off to the left, which gave them a perfect view of everyone. Killua nodded at her as she leaned back into the tree and her lids slowly started to drip, more than usual.
"Tired?" he asked. Killua had the suspicion that she had come here to rest, more than look for Gon. He was right.
"Yeah." she quietly yawned as she shut her eyes. Even though she looked peacefully asleep, he knew she was still alert. His parents had taught him how to stay alert and functioning while he was asleep, and he assumed someone had taught Two. This time, he was wrong. For her, it was a self-taught survival skill.
The boy leaned his head against the tree next to Two, making sure not to get to close. He looked across the clearing for any signs of Gon, but he found nothing.
Eventually, he saw a creepy man dressed up as a clown costume, carrying the shirtless old man that Gon was with earlier. He must be the guy Two was telling him about. Killua was confused but thought nothing of it. He sighed and accepted the fact that Gon wasn't coming back and closed his eyes to rest.
