All of the remaining examinees were loaded onto the airship to be transported to the Third Phase. Killua and Gon had wanted Two to explore the ship with them, but she declined.
"Hey, Two, Do you want to come explore the ship with us?" Gon had asked, looking at her with hopeful eyes. He wanted her to talk more.
"Yeah, it'll be fun!" Killua agreed. He just wanted a friend.
Two bit her bottom lip and blinked a couple of times. "Um, I would, but I'm feeling very tired. I want to sleep." she muttered, hoping not to offend them.
"Oh. . . are you sure?" Gon asked in disappointment. Two nodded and all of them collectively sighed.
"Well, goodnight." Killua waves as he turned around, Gon following after him.
"'Night, Killua, Gon." Two turned around as well and started walking in the opposite direction. The room where she would be sleeping was extremely crowded and uncomfortable, she didn't know where to go. She wasn't used to being around more than ten people at a time, and even that was slightly overwhelming.
Two scanned the room for an open corner, but all of them were occupied by other people. She frowned and walked over to the shelf where the pillows and blankets were up for grabs. As she looked up at the shelf, she realized that it was too high up for her to reach. The fifth shelf and up were the only ones that still had any blankets on them. She grabbed a pillow from the adjacent shelving unit, as there were still pillows on the bottom shelves. She turned back to the other unit and sighed. Jumping, the brunette attempted to reach one of the blankets but she missed. After several more attempts, she was starting to accept that she wouldn't have a blanket for the night. She turned around and started to head to an empty section of the room, but someone stopped her.
"Hey, Two." she turned around at the mention of her nickname and looked up to see Leorio.
"Yeah?" she quietly.
He grabbed a blanket off the shelf and dumped it into the girl's hands. "Here."
Two gave him a grateful smile and held the blanket and pillow close to her. "Thank you, Mr. Leorio." she beamed. Leorio looked down, as if to hide his face.
"You don't need to call me that, Leorio is fine. C'mon, there's an open spot next to Kurapika." He gestured towards the far wall, where Kurapika sat under a blanket by himself. To his left was Leorio's belongings, and on his right, there was enough room for Two to lay down. She couldn't believe they were being so nice to her.
"Thank you." she breathed, following Leorio to the end of the room.
"Hello, Two!" Kurapika greeted, patting the open spot next to him. "We saved a spot for you."
Two discreetly bowed and quietly muttered a thanks before laying down her pillow near Kurapika and covering herself completely with the blanket. Within two minutes, she's was sound asleep.
"She's so quiet." Kurapika murmured, feeling the slight urge to play with her hair. He and Leorio had a conversation with her during the Second Phase, and she came off as quite reserved. She wasn't shy, but she didn't seem to enjoy talking that much. they talked about their ambitions and other topics. Two had said there were two reasons she wanted to become a Hunter. One was that even though she was underaged, she would have the rights of an adult and more. Two, so she could immediately have tons of money for a comfortable dwelling and other necessities. Basically, she was homeless.
Kurapika felt empathy for the small girl, as he had been homeless for a while, too. Eventually, he was able to snatch a tiny apartment with cheap rent. Two was most likely twelve, and Kurapika couldn't fathom how she had survived on the streets. It was extraordinary.
What Kurapika didn't know was that Two had a third reason, but she never told anybody. The secret behind her speckled eyes that were once a plain dirt brown, the secret behind the scars dotting her body on pale skin that was once a healthy tan, the secret behind her quiet demeanor that was once full of life and laughter and energy. All of these showed her true intentions, and she had every last detail planned out in her mind.
However, not many people would believe it if someone told them that a quiet girl like Two had an honest hit list.

ooooohhh interesting! if you think she had abusive parents, ha, you're WRONG! it's still pretty cliche for fics I guess but I'm proving here today that cliches can be written well. I don't like cliches, so I'm fixing them to what they should be. in case you're wondering, I have a burning hate for hallmark movies. 1000 movies, 3 plots, that's literally what they are.
