"Hyacinth!" Gon yelled, nearly jumping on her. She was startled, as anyone would be. Killua approached her from behind Gon as well. "Why didn't you tell us you got to the eighty-fifth floor? We were looking all over for you!"
The multi-colored eyed girl stared in something equal to amazement at the two boys. "You were looking for me?"
"Yeah!" Killua added. "We had no idea where we were, since we didn't see your match."
"Oh," Hyacinth whispered, standing up and turning to them. "Sorry about that, I should've tried to find you."
Gon shook his head. "No, it's alright. Hey, me and Killua both got to the fiftieth floor, and we were racing to see who can get to the two-hundredth floor first."
"Can you come to the fiftieth floor with us?" the silverette continued, looking into her eyes. "We want you to participate, too, but it wouldn't be fair if you were thirty floors ahead of us."
The girl slightly bobbed her head up and down, taking in what they were saying. "Yeah, I'll race with you guys!" Her eyes dimly sparkled as she spoke in an excited tone. "Though, is it possible for me to move down floors?"
Killua briefly answered. "You can, all you have to do is ask. I've done it before. C'mon, we can go switch it now."
Eventually, Hyacinth's floor was changed and she was now on the same floor as Killua and Gon, her two friends.
The way her mind worked was quite self-destructive. When Hyacinth made a friend, she would do everything in her power to keep them, make an effort to be nice. Though, every friend she's ever had has left her. She knew deep down in her heart that her friends were going to eventually leave her, but she forged their bonds deeper. Made them more attached to each other. The only thing she was going to do was hurt herself more.
But, why? Because she still had a tiny little ounce of hope. Hope that maybe one day she'd be friends with someone who accepts her for the monster she is. And she had, the one and only Kurapika. That friendship reassured her, giving her even more hope to achieve her goal. Make friends, and hold on to them.
However, friendship is a very fickle thing.

The teen was admittedly forced to rent a hotel room for the three of them, since she was the only one with money. Gon had vowed not to use his license until he punched Hisoka back. The room held a simple layout, with two queen-sized beds, a T.V., extra furniture, and an attached bathroom.
"How long do you think we'll be staying here?" Hyacinth asked as she walked in, leaving her red boots by the door.
"As long as it takes us to get to the one-hundredth floor!" Gon exclaimed, already exploring the room. "That shouldn't take to long, right?"
"Nah, we should all get to the hundredth floor within a month or so, and then from there a while to get to the two-hundredth floor." Killua answered, throwing his backpack onto one of the beds. The three of them had already decided that Killua and Gon would share one bed and Hyacinth would get the other bed to herself.
Hyacinth ran her fingers over the soft bedding, soon sitting down and flopping onto the bed. Despite the easy day she had had, she was sleepy. She had developed a proper sleep schedule over the month she stayed at the butler's quarters, and she was sticking to it. She would go to bed at eleven, and wake up at roughly nine. Healthy!
"Killua, what should we do for now?" she asked with a light smile as she sat up, glancing at the boy. Killua, who sat on the opposite bed, moved to hers and sat across from her.
"We should see if there's anything good on T.V." he answered, turning towards the television so that his back was to hers. After a moment, they heard a flush and the water rush from the faucet from the bathroom, and Gon walked out.
He stood at the foot of the bed with bright eyes, looking back and forth between the two. "Should I grab the remote?" he grinned, having heard their conversation.
"Yeah! Put something good on, Gon!" Hyacinth nodded her head to Killua's words, and Gon grabbed the remote and returned to his original spot. He sat down at the front of the bed on the floor and started flipping through the channels.
Hyacinth, who was sitting on the bed behind Killua, decided to move up closer to sit with the two of them. She simply laid down onto the bed so her stomach was faced down, and her feet were in the air. Glancing back down, she noticed her head was right next to Killua's lap. Without really thinking, she leaned her head towards Killua, and her head rested gently against his thigh.
Unbeknownst to what was happening until he felt Hyacinth's hair against him. Surprised, he looked down and slightly shifted away from her, as she wasn't sure what she was doing. However, seeing that she was only trying to relax, it made him feel twisted and awful inside when the multi-colored eyed girl slightly frowned, her brows tilted inward.
"Sorry... was that not okay?" Hyacinth sat up, inching her way back to where she was sitting behind Killua, who instantly regretted his impulse choice. He quickly stammered out a response, shaking his head and lightly patting the spot the girl had just moved from.
"N-no! It's perfectly fine, I don't mind. I just wasn't sure what you were doing at first."
His words gained an understanding nod from the girl, who laid back down and again rested her head on the male's thigh. She seemed much more comfortable than before, which was to be expected. She couldn't see it, but above her, Killua's face was a mad shade of pink.
"Gon, put on a funny show..." he mumbled out, briefly remembering from the Third Phase that Hyacinth liked comedies. The dark green-haired boy hummed in response, eventually settling for an old family-skit comedy show they could all agree on. They all enjoyed it, laughing along with the laugh track in the background. Hyacinth, especially, seemed to be enjoying it, humming the tune of the theme song whenever a new episode came on.
"Woah, I didn't know these shows could be so funny," Hyacinth quietly giggled, admiring the experience. Gon perked up, looking behind him to see the brunette.
"A lot of these shows are really funny!" the hazel-eyed boy exclaimed, laughing at the punchline of a joke a character made. "And they're really entertaining, too! I'll have to show you some more!"
Hyacinth eagerly nodded her head, her speckled eyes seemingly sparkling in delight. "Yes, would you please, Gon?! If it's not a bother."
"Of course!" he assured, smiling again and then turning back to the show. Hyacinth did the same, thoroughly enjoying everything it had to offer.
Killua looked down at the girl leaning against his lap when another episode came on. She was contently humming the theme song, with a genuine smile and looking happier than she had ever seen her. The pure expression on her pale face made him feel something, a little twinge in his heart. Though, he wasn't exactly sure what it was.
