𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋, 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓-year-old Hyacinth Hirokama laid on her bed with boredom on her mind, her long brown hair nearly covering her face and her mud-brown eyes lowered. None of the other children really wanted to play with her. The kids that she did talk to were all chosen before her.

Without realizing it, the owner strided through the large dormitory to Hyacinth's bed, kneeling down to her height. "Hyacinth, someone is here to see you, dear."

The brown-eyed girl popped her head up, no longer feeling down when she heard Ms. Ram speak. SHe sat up quickly, her eyes brightening. "Is it Mama?! Or Papa?! Are they here to get me?!"

Ms. Ram looked at the girl with a sad, almost pitiful expression. "Honey, I've already told you, you can't see Mama or Papa anymore. But there's someone else here for you!"

"Aww..." the little girl started. She wasn't sure why they wouldn't let her see her parents. "Well, who's here to see me?"

The ravenette lady smiled again. "There's a young man named Dr. Hatori Kasa in my office, and he's looking to adopt. He's taken a particular liking to you! Would you like to meet him?"

Yes, Hyacinth Hirokama, eight year old orphan. Her mom, Plumeria Hirokama, was an unstable addicted drunk. Her dad, Miren Hirokama, was an addicted violent drunk. They loved her, they truly did, but they weren't responsible enough to take care of a child. But there were more happy moments than there were 'hiding' moments, as Hyacinth called them, so she didn't understand why the state took them away from her.

"Really?! He wants to adopt me?!" she cheered excitedly, jumping off her bed. "Is he nice?!"

"Yes, honey, he's very nice!"  Without another word, Hyacinth took her hand and allowed herself to be lead to Ms. Ram's office.

When she opened the door to the room, she laid her eyes onto the well-dressed man sitting comfortably in one of the chairs. His light brown hair was gelled and parted to the left, and his roots were sunkissed. The dark blue vest he wore made his blue eyes look darker than they were.

"Hello! My name is Hyacinth."  She instantly bounced over to the man, placing her hands on the arm of his chair curiously. 'Energetic' might as well have been her middle name.

"Hi, Hyacinth! You're quite the cute young lady." he smiled back, looking her in the eye.

"Thank you!" she giggled, looking at the bit of hair on his chin. She wasn't sure why it was there, but she didn't question it.

"Hyacinth, would you like to talk with me and Dr. Hatori?"  Ms. Ram asked, taking a seat in the chair behind her desk. After the girl nodded a yes, she had her sit in the chair next to her possible adopter.

The three of them talked for a while, the adults about more serious things while Hyacinth listened and spoke when she wanted to. She loved how they paid attention to her. Ms. Ram always listened to her.

"Alright, Dr. Hatori, Hyacinth, you two seem to be quite compatible!" Ms. Ram stated happily, folding her hands on her desk and smiling. "I don't see why there would be any problem with this adoption."

"Really?!" the little girl clapped, jumping in her chair. "I get to be adopted?!"

"Well, we can't jump to any conclusions, but I think we'll be able to make it work!"
