"KILLUA! TWO!"  The pair snapped awake instantly at the sound of their names being yelled from afar, by none other than a certain green-haired boy.

"Gon!" Killua yelled back. They were quite a distance away from each other, and the yelling was necessary. He waved his fishing pole in the air and gestured for them to come over.

"How on Earth did he make it here?" Two asked Killua's exact thoughts.

"I dunno, but at least he did." Killua smiled as he stood up, helping Two as well. They both jogged down the hill and ran across the field to meet the eager boy that was waiting for them.

"Hey guys!" Gon exclaimed. Two looked at him in fascination.

"How did you make it back here? I mean, without any directions and with all the fog and traps?" she asked, genuinely interested. She spoke in a higher volume than she previously did, and she spoke more than a single sentence. Both of the boys showed subtle signs of surprise, but Gon still answered with enthusiasm.

"I tracked Leorio's cologne through the woods! It has a very distinct smell." he declared. Both Killua and Two had a very confused look on their faces. Two responded with a very small oh.

Okay then.

"Gon, you're like a dog!" Killua retorted. Gon rubbed the back of his head and nervously laughed, not knowing how to respond.

"Ehehehehehe. . ."  Luckily for the male, Leorio started drifting into consciousness.

"W-what happened?" he asked, unaware of the situation.

"He must have forgotten." Gon whispered to Kurapika, who was standing there the entire time.

"I think it's best we don't tell him what happened," Kurapika whispered back as he went to help Leorio to his feet. Gon nodded and turned back to the pair.

"What happened?" Killua asked, looking back and forth between Kurapika and Gon.

"Just a little run-in, that's all." Kurapika smiled. Gon nodded in agreement. As Killua opened his mouth to respond, the large doors of the gate opened, revealing an open field scattered with tables.

"It has been a pleasure being your examiner. I shall now take my leave."  Satoz, who was at the front of the group, started walking towards the forest. He disappeared into the thicket of green, and all of the applicants piled through the gate.
