"Two, what channel should we put it on?" Killua asked. Two had left her cloak an backpack on her couch and agreed to explore the room for entertainment with them.
"I'm not sure. . . I haven't used one of these in a really long time. Maybe a comedy?" Two suggested. She looked at the remote in Killua's hands, confused by all of the buttons on it. How could you tell which was which, and what are they all for?
"Yeah! A comedy show sounds great!" Gon agreed. He loves to laugh, and he wanted to see Killua and Two laugh alongside him.
"Okay!" Killua eagerly put on an old comedy, with grainy pictures and a high-tech arsenal of jokes. The camera more recent home comedy skit, and the train of humor continued until the trio got bored.
Everyone in the room noticed Two's quiet, but cheerful laugh whenever a character got to the punchline. Low in tone, but feminine and airy. They all silently agreed that they wished it was louder.
After a few hours, they turned the TV off and the boys continued to explore the room, and Two retired to her couch, grabbing a few books from the bookshelf on her way there. All of them were horror novels, she enjoyed getting emotions out of books, be it fear, sadness or pleasure. It was amazing to her, how a page with words could make you feel emotions. She plopped onto her couch and opened her first book. A survival of the fittest, with less violence and more gore. The next was a war story, with tons of violence and angst.
Several hours went by, and after eating, everyone got ready for bed. Two barely moved, only shifting her leg to make herself more comfortable. Kurapika watched we silently enjoy her book. He had no idea what it was about, so he looked over her shoulder and read a couple paragraphs.
"How can you rereads that with a smile on your face?" he asks slightly concerned.
Two turned her head and continued to grin. "He's the main antagonist. He deserved it."
Kurapika slowly nodded and turned to the stack of book's she's already read. She's was just as fast of a reader as he was. There was a decent amount there. "Is it alright if I read one of these?"
"Sure! I'd recommend this one, it's part of a trilogy." Two placed a plain-looking book in his hands, followed by two more. "They're really good, it's about these kids who are tryin to escape from becoming harvested."
The male didn't exactly know how she meant harvested, but he assumed the worst. And he assumed right. "Sounds fine. I'll read it in a little bit."
Two happily nodded, nearly giggling at the torturous descriptions. Kurapika didn't know the context, so he thought of her as a low-key psychopath.
Twenty minutes later, the lights were off and everyone was asleep except Kurapika and Two, who were up reading. Two was under the blanket Killua gave her with a flashlight, quickly but throughly reading through the entirety of her book. She was pleased with the ending, and quietly moved onto the next book. Kurapika was fine without a flashlight, he could see. He was easily pulled into the plot and invested in the characters, Two was right to say it was good. It wasn't a grotesque as it sounded. Both of them eventually moved onto their next book, Kurapika being determined to finish the series and Two reading for entertainment.
Two shut here last book with a relieved sigh, deciding that that was enough for a while. She turned off the flashlight and crawled out from under the blanket, but she stopped when she saw two bright red dots, in midair, just a short distance away from her. She immediately froze, and stayed perfectly still. What was it? Nobody could get in, the door was locked shut. What was it?
Th frightened girl instinctively did what most people would do, she threw the nearest object at it and ran in the opposite direction. The closest object happened to be her pillow. Upon contact, a muffled noise could be heard, along with the sounds of things hitting the floor. Two screamed and turned on the lights, simply to be met with the sight of a knocked-over Kurapika, with a book and water bottle on the floor.
The confused blonde looked bewildered, looking at Two with his scarlet eyes. Two immediately understood what had happened, and she quickly started apologizing to Kurapika.
"I- I'm so sorry!" she gasped, though her voice was still quiet. She was honestly trying not to laugh. "I saw- saw your eyes and I didn't know what it was because it was dark so I panicked and threw my pillow at you and I'm super super sorry-"
"Did he just die." Kurapika dryly asked, not looking the slightest bit offended. Oh. He was at that part. Two gave him a look of empathy.
"Well, technically, he's not dead, just unwound." Two said softly. "You'll see." That part hit he like a train. But she knew the ending.
"What are you guys talking about?" Killua asked. He was very confused when he woke up to Two's scream (which of course was still quiet), and then apologizing, and now somebody is technically not dead? What are they even talking about?
"Would either of you like to explain?" Killua questioned. Kurapika was once again absorbed in his book, so Two reluctantly answered. The three boys listened to her explanation.
"Well, I was reading for a while and as I was about to go to bed I saw Kurapika's scarlet eyes glowing in the dark. But I didn't know that it was him so I panicked and screamed and threw my pillow at him. . . Sorry I woke you guys." she said, her voice a little hoarse.
"Now that that's out o the way, pull you turn the lights off please?" Leorio groaned, turning over to shield his face from the light. Two squeaked and hurriedly turned them off.
"Sorry Leorio." Two walked back to her couch and laid down, wanting to die of embarrassment, yet still holding back laughter.
"You're weird, Two." Gon said.
"Agreed," Killua added.
Two unknowingly blushed and muttered in response before falling asleep. "If you say so. . ."
