Chapter 12

Ben's P. O. V.

A few more days had past. And still nothing. Well that's a total lie.

Jane was finally off of bed rest, but was supposed to take it easy. She's come by a couple of times to see Audrey, Evie, Lonnie, and Mal.

Audrey was going home tomorrow. She was still in some pain, but not as much. She would usually, if she she was up to it, come by and say hi.

Evie was doing pretty great. No episodes for days. But she also wasn't doing okay emotionally. She would come by Mals room a sit with her for hours. And even when Doug tolled her to get some rest she wouldn't buge. I can't blame her. I've been here to.

Now Lonnie. Boy Lonnie had us scared. She had finally woken up a few days ago. Jay was so happy he was crying. She doing good so far. She has a minor concussion, a fractured wrist, and a couple of bruises and cuts. But over all she was doing great. I can't lie and say that I wasn't worried about her myself. I mean her and Jane are like the little sisters I never had.

Now me. I'm not doing so well. I haven't left this hospital for three days. I've showered here, slept here, never leaving this room. I just need her to wake up. And everything will be okay. I needed the love of my life life back. She means everything to me.

"Hi Ben." Evie said coming into the room.

"Hi Evie."

"Still nothing I'm guessing?" She says sitting on the chair next to her bed.

"Yep"

"How are you?"

"For the most part. Not to well. What am I gonna do Evie? If she doesn't make it, it....... " I struggle to get the words out.

"It'll be heart breaking. Trust me I know how you feel. She's like a little sister to me, and I don't know what I'm going to do without her. She's been their to help all of us, and now there's nothing that we can do to help her. Without her I wouldn't be alive today."

"Yeah. You know without her I would still be in a horrible relationship with Audrey."

"Yep. But we have to have hope, she's so strong. And I know she's fighting for us. I know that she just wouldn't go without a fight. She Mal for crying out loud. She's doesn't deserve to be here. She deserves to be happy. Mals had a tough life, she needs to be okay. She has to be okay."

Mal was a fighter. And Evie was right, she has to be okay. She didn't deserve to suffer like this what so ever.

Next thing I Knew I was in the waiting room again. Waiting. Come on Mal.
