"Alright how are we all doing today?" Keefe said in an exaggerated peppy voice. It was around 8 at night, a lot later than originally planned.
"Nothing? Really?" Keefe said, making a pouty face. Sophie urged him to hurry, it was already late enough. Ro was standing to the side making sure nothing went wrong. Sandor had to go help Grizel and do a security check in Foxfire."We are going to start with regulating our body temperature. Try and trick your mind into thinking you are hot, when really you are freezing." Keefe said. Tam and Linh could do it right away since they were in Exilium all those years. Keefe and Dex could do it shortly after. Fitz, Biana, and Sophie had the most trouble. Linh helped Fitz, Tam helped Biana, and Keefe helped Sophie. After a few tries, it clicked in Sophie's mind. After everyone was able to do it, they started testing each other. They poured buckets of ice-cold water of each others heads. It was all fun and games until Ro pushed Keefe to the ground.
"Ow?" Keefe said. He brushed himself off and started to get up when Ro pushed him down again.
"I'm sorry for the Bo and Ro poems okay?" Keefe stammered, backing away from her. Ro snarled and took out her dagger. Sophie saw what was happening and rushed over.
"Ro? What's wrong?" She asked. That's when Ro tried to attack her. Sophie scrambled back, unsure of what to do. She was about to call for help when she heard a shriek. She saw the dagger was inches away from her, and in the middle of them was Keefe. The dagger stabbed him in the lower abdomen, which was now bleeding. Then an explosion went off, and Ro collapsed onto the ground. Sophie looked over and saw Dex throwing explosions.
She ran over to Dex and said, "Keefe is hurt and I need to find Elwin and- "
"Breath. It'll be okay. Once you get Keefe help I'll explain what happened," Dex said. Sophie gave him a confused look, but ran back over towards Keefe. She got her pathfinder and took him to Foxfire.
"Sophie? Where's Ro? And why is Keefe all red- IS THAT BLOOD?" Sandor squeaked
"Yes it's me. Ro went rogue and stabbed Keefe. Where's Elwin??" Sophie said, her mind struggling to focus.
"Inside." Sandor said as he took Keefe, who was unconscious, and took him to Elwin's office.
"Elwin? Are you here?" Sophie shouted, hoping he was there.
"I'm over here, what's the probl- " Elwin started. He turned around and froze mid-sentence after seeing Keefe. Elwin started shouting commands and got to work.
"He'll be okay, he just fainted from the amount of blood he lost." Elwin said, wiping his forehead. Sophie nodded, but couldn't speak. She sat by his side for 2 hours. She was about to go home and get some rest when Keefe's eyes fluttered open.
"Keefe?" Sophie whispered, afraid that if she talked too loud he would suddenly faint again.
"What's up Foster? What'd I miss?" Keefe said while giving her a painful grin.
"What'd you miss? Well you almost died. That's what you missed." Sophie said, feeling annoyed.
"She's exaggerating, but you do need to be more careful next time," Elwin said, walking into the room holding vials filled with medicine.
"Drink these, then never come back," Elwin teased. Keefe drank them, gagging after each one.
"What's in these?" He asked.
"You don't want to know," Elwin said with a sly grin. Keefe went to reach for a pillow to throw at him, but gasped when a burst of pain shot through his stomach.
"You'll be fine, you just need to take it easy for a while." Elwin said.
"So he can go home?" Sophie asked.
"Actually, it'd probably be best if he wasn't around his father at this time. He should stay at Everglen or Havenfield." Elwin admitted.
Sophie sighed, then said, "I'll hail Alden,"
Keefe looked up at her with a hurt expression on his face and said, "Jeez I almost died and now you are sending me away,"
Sophie rolled her eyes. Alden didn't answer, meaning Keefe had to stay at Havenfield.
