Reminiscence

Chapter 30

Kolin's Pov- Taissa and I walk in into the living room where Evan is currently resting in the reclining chair. Taissa goes over to him and shakes him a little. "Evvvvan." She says. He wakes a few seconds later and starts rubbing his eyes. "What's wrong babe?." "Someone is here to see you."  He looks up past her and over to me he begins to raise up when she rests a hand on his shoulder.

"He has come to explain himself." Taissa says. "Well he has a lot of explaining to do." Evan states. I stand until Evan or Taissa tells me to sit.

Evan gives me permission to sit which I do. Taissa offers beverages and a snack. I just ask for a glass of water. When she returns she takes the couch across from me.

I skim my around the rim of the glass and stare off into space. You could hear the clock ticking in the background beads of sweat rolls down my face as Evan looks at me for what seems like forever. Finally I speak up.

"Mr. Peters-." He really hones his attention on me. "I know....I know I wasn't best boyfriend Avril had and I know I had got her into serious trouble by having her come across the pond to be with me in libsdon. I know you want what is best for you daughter because your were considered the best for Taissa when you were courting so you took those values and set them high for whom ever came to call upon a possible daughter." I finish.

Evan has the reclining chair upward and when he finally sits up he looks at me some more before speaking. "I knew this day would come." He says. He stands up and begins pacing the living room floor. He looks to Tai.

"She can't stay little for Evan we know this. " Taissa says. "I know I just... She's my little girl you know. I...I remember when she tried to  stay up all night until I got home just so we could celebrate our birthdays, or when we went to LA and she first stood up on the Hollywood walk of fame. There are so many memories." Evan says.

Taissa gets up and hugs Evan. "I know Evan but,  she will always be our little girl." Evan and her  pull away before he turns to me. "Mr. Peters, I love Avril Elizabeth Peters with every bone in my body I wouldn't change that for the world all this time apart has made me miss her more and I can't stay away from her any longer.

I have to know what she feels, if she dreams the same way I do, does she dream of waking up next to me every morning as I do her. I would never hurt her, or lay a hand on her. I pro-." "I give you my blessing go get your girl." Evan says looking toward me. "Sir I-." "Save it for her Kolin she is the one that will wear the ring on the finger." I smile.

     Evan pulls me into a hug. Before we pull away. I hug Taissa once again before leaving to board a plane.

I arrive to LA and after leaving the airport I immediately head to the hotel Taissa said Avril would be staying. I get there and I am told that Avril was out for the day.

I walk out and down the street. I needed to clear my head and relax the tension was real. I walk to a nearby park. Everytime I am near a park I try to go especially back home I love their hidden beauty.

As I sit down on the bench I look across from me to see a huge fountain there stands a woman in a two piece black  satin dress. The top piece was cutoff sleeves and little lowcut and the skirt part is pink roses. She faces the fountain her brown locks are mid back. I stand up and start walking to her as I get closer I realize it's Avril. My steps pick up until I'm on the first step of the fountain.

I wanted to speak and say anything but my mouth was only sounding out one word. "Avril!." She looks over her shoulder for a few minutes before turning all the way around. After all this time she still causes me to catch my breath. Age was on her side. 

Her eyes light up and begin to water. "Kolin!." She runs over to me and I to her. We hug for a few minutes before she pulls away and looks up to me. "What brings you here?." "You." "Me?." "I missed you all these years Avril I can't imagine where my future would be without you. I am sorry for all the pain I have caused you and the trouble I got you into, but all I want in this moment, forever perhaps is you." She looks up to me to speak but interject.

"I wanted to do this a long time ago, but we were so young." She furrows her eyebrows in confusion. I take her hand and kneel. "Avril Elizabeth Peters please make me the happiest man alive and be my wife?." she covers her mouth with her right hand and gasps. "Kolin James Fassbender I wouldn't dare think about a future without you." I slide the ring on her finger and stand to kiss her. We kiss for what feels like an eternity. She was going to be wife, My wife.
