Two Years Later......

Avril's Pov- It's amazing how people can change in 2 years all the stuff they are put through in the time span it makes you stronger or it can break you. Liam was going to be a Doctor and specialize in Cardiology.

I was in the acting business doing a few movies, but I still live at home with the family. Mallory was a Senior in highschool and she would be attending college in the fall.

We all sit in the crowd as we watch Mallory's class walk the stage. I remember when that was me 2 years ago. It had been rough thay day saying goodbye to people had grown with for a very long time. Then Kolin and I had ended our relationship. I close my eyes and remember the day all over again.

I sit in my chair and look out to the crowd and see my brother and sister and mom and dad. They smile and wave and then it's time for my row to stand as the junior marshals stand on either end motioning for us to stand. Their hands rise and we stand. We walk off the stage and follow suit. The marshal stand and walk as they walk we turn and face the stage. Then names are called. "Avril Elizabeth Peters." My picture pops up and I go to walk it was as if in moment the whole essence of time stood still.

"Avril.....earth to Avril." I hear liam say snapping his fingers in front of me. "Hmmm." I look where he points Mallory was next to be called. "Mallory Savannah Peters, Magna Cum laude." She walks gracefully across the stage and shakes hands with the principal and gets her diploma.

She gets her picture made she waves to us once she is across and down the stage. She waves and we wave back. She opens her diploma to find nothing. Her mouth drops and looks to us. After the ceremony we are standing outside and are waiting Mallory to finish getting pictures.

When she finishes we go out to eat and start talking about Mallory's future endeavors. As we keep talking I keep zoning out into my own little world. I wanted to talk about Mallory's future, but watching Mallory graduate had me thinking about my future in the making.

Two years were gone and I had been making movies and spending time with family, but not once did I think about what I wanted beyond this and now watching her was realization that my time was ending slowly. I look off thinking about what I could be. What I could have been. I try not to be self centered, but It just had me thinking.

Fall in Maine was considered the eighth wonder of the world to us because of the pretty colors. It also ment change and the big change for the Peters family was Mallory. She was the last child in the house and now the baby of the family was grown and doing her own thing. Mom and Dad along with liam and I stood at the college entrance on move in day.

Mallory stood with her cactus in her hand and tears were making their way down her cheeks. "We will always be one call away." Mom says. Dad nods in agreement and pulls her against himself. "I know." She looks away from them and now toward liam and I. She walks toward us and hugs us tightly. "Thank you for the memories. I will miss you guys dearly." She says.

She gives us a kiss on cheek. She hugs mom and dad before giving them kisses on the cheek. She then turns and leaves. She waves one more time before leaving. She then turns and walks toward the door of the college entrance.

When we got home Mom and Dad. Were not their usual selfs they were more quiet than usual. For a just a quick moment I actually seen mom's eyes water up and dad pulled her into a hug. "All my babies are grown and gone." I hear mom say. Dad rubs her back soothingly. My eyes begin to water up as well. Liam at this point has shuffled down the stairs with a duffle bag tossed over one shoulder and has a frown over on his face and eyebrows furrowed in curiosity . I whisper toward him "mom" he comes on down and throws his bag on the floor. "They are going on Evan,  living their lives and they are going to forget about us and we are going to be old and die." mom cries out. Dad tries calming her down.

"Taissa, they are still going to love us the same and I don't believe they will forget about us anytime soon." Dad says. I walk toward mom and embrace her from behind. "I will always be your little girl mama." I assure her wrapping my arms around her neck. She takes my arms and holds onto them as if it's a life raft out in the middle of the ocean.

Liam hugs mom, dad, and me. "I will always be here too dad and mom. Just not so much the little girl part." He says. Mom goes into pure laughter at this point. Dad begins to chuckle as well.

"Mallory will always be here too mom and dad even if she is away at college." I say. It was in that moment that I was watching a fear of mine come to life. As I was getting older my parents were progressing into age. My mom once all blonde hair is starting to get their its strips of silver in it. Dad once firm skin and dark brown eyes have lightened from being as dark and crows feet was starting to take it's mark.

They still looked good and didn't look days over 30. But it was all setting in at this point that in 20 years from now they wouldn't be around and us kids would have no meal to come too, or this beautiful house, or they themselves.

My eyes begin to water up. I go to step outside liam follows suit. "You okay Av?." I wipe my cheeks. "Just peachy." I state. I look out beyond our house and look at the scenery. "No Avril you are not." He says setting a hand on my shoulder.

"Dad and mom they are not getting any younger and it just dawned on me. Liam in 10 years, perhaps 20, maybe even 30 they won't be here anymore." I say my eyes start welling up. I turn toward him.

He pulls me into a hug. "Oh Avril, stop talking like that." Liam says. My eyes well up. "Do you ever think about it?." I ask him sincerely. Liam looks off before answering.

"Yes, Avril I have, but I try not to because it tears me up." He says. I pull him into another hug. "We will have each other. " I said. "Yes, You, Mallory, and I, always." He says. In that moment we had come to terms on 2 things the one being mom and dad were not getting any younger and two when the time would come Mallory, liam, and I would stand together not as 3 individual sibling in the Peters family, but 3 siblings as a whole the way our parents instilled in us.
