You're in the car with your boyfriend, and you're driving. As you ride down the smooth road, you listen to your boyfriend sing the music on the radio and occasionally change the station when an ad comes on and you're so happy to call him yours :). All of a sudden a thought pops into your head and your breathing becomes shallow and rapid. what if you lost him? what if something horrific happened and he got hurt? what if he got so hurt he was overcome with amnesia? The thoughts run around your head like a racecar on a track, forever banished to that one track. A trickle of sweat runs down your face. "hey, you okay?" his soft, sweet voice asked, pulling you out of your thought process. "yeah.. yeah, I'm ok," you smile at him then look back to the road. After a while everything goes back to normal. Then the thought pops into your mind again. Your breathing becomes shallow and rapid again, your hands begin to sweat, making them slide down the wheel ever-so-slightly. Your boyfriend calls out to you, "Are you okay? Say something!" but this time it didn't help. Your throat starts to clog up, as if you were being choked. You couldn't breathe. Your face was turning blue, and your vision was blurring. You're scared. Then all in the spur of the moment, you felt a hand grab the wheel and pull the car to the side, then you heard honking and a crash then screams, which pulled you out of your trance. You call out your boyfriends name before your face slams into the wheel and everything goes black.
Thirteen months later you find yourself in a hospital waiting room. Today is the last day to visit your boyfriend before they decide it's time to cut the line. You've visited him every day for the past year, thinking out every outcome of what's soon to happen to him. To think just a year ago you were panicking about this every happening, and now look at you, walking to the hospital room of the boyfriend you've been counting on to stay alive for 395 days. You step into the room, your boyfriends face brings tears to your eyes, just like every time you see him. You walked to the edge of his bed and grab his hand, intertwining his fingers and yours. "If you can hear this, please come back to me. This is your last day and I don't know what I could do without you. I've been dreading this day for the past thirteen months. Just- please, if you can hear me.. I love you." You put a hand on his cold, pale cheek and lean down, placing a small kiss on his forehead. As you begin to walk out the door, you hear a shuffling and a soft, almost muffled sounding, "hello?" you turn to see him, his eyes open, the color slowly fading into his face. Your face brightens up, you feel like all of the planets in the galaxy have aligned themselves for this moment. You run to his side, hugging him gingerly. You lean in for a kiss but felt resistance. You looked at him, confused. "Who are you?"
