It was inevitable. i knew i was gonna die, but i didn't try to run. i figured if i was going out, i was gonna explore first. i entered the house through the front door, as i usually would after a night of being with friends. i didn't know yet, but a glow under the garage door caught my eye. i looked and opened the door slowly. i stepped out and the door locked itself behind me. i saw them there. my parents, my sister, and my dog. they were all dead and sprawled across the garage floor. it was a brutal killing, really, but it hadn't hit me yet. i didn't freeze, or cry, or scream. i just stood there, watching the blood leak and stain the gravel. i stepped forward and immediately felt eyes on me. i couldn't tell where from. but i got the gist of what was supposed to happen. i knew that i was supposed to find them dead, and then i would die. the door behind me was locked, and if i ran, i'd be dead. i smiled, coldly. i wanted them to see how calm i was. i walked over to my dad, and felt a tear roll down my cheek. i kissed his forehead and stepped away, looking at his lifeless body. he'd been choked, i could see the chain around his neck. i walked over to my mother, who was drenched in blood. i blew her a kiss, sighed, and looked at her. even in blood, she was beautiful. "i love you mom" i whispered. turning, i met my sister, who seemed to be stabbed multiple times in the back. i couldn't see her face, but i walked over to her and placed my hand on her shoulder. i closed my eyes and gave a moment of silence. lastly, i saw my dog. he was dismembered. i smiled through tears as a i remembered what a good and loyal dog he was. i was overcome with grief as i backed away and got a full view of them all. i covered my mouth and sobbed quietly. after a second, i regained my strength and looked around. maybe he wasn't here? maybe he left and wanted to leave me with the pieces. i looked at the garage doors and thought about pressing the button, opening them, and running to my neighbor. i walked in front of my dads car, where the button was on the wall in front of it. just then, his car lights flashed on, blinding me. my eyes adjusted and i saw it, in the drivers seat, staring at me. it was watching me the whole time, rapidly breathing in delight of my reaction. it had sunken and hollow eyes, sharp and pointy teeth, and its head was tilted slightly to the side.
