Gavin woke up in his car. he looked around and sighed. he had forgotten that the night before, lizzie and him had gotten into a fight. she forced him
to sleep outside of the house, because she couldn't even look at him. she was so deeply angered by him forgetting her birthday that she started yelling and screaming for him to leave. he did, and hoped that she'd be a little less angry today. he walked inside and looked around. "Liz, i'm sorry about last night. I've had so much on my mind and i had plans but forgot to see them through. that's all." he opened each door quietly and didn't see her. "Liz?" he called out, checking the kitchen. he found her, sitting alone at the dinner table. "liz, please listen to me" he begged as he sat across from her. she was looking down. she grabbed the coffee cup beside her and held it. "i'm sorry about last night" he said again. "i'm sorry." she said quietly. "don't be sorry, it's fine. i should be sorry. i forgot your birthday, after all." he finished, looking into her eyes and sighed. she got up and walked off. "come on, please just listen" he pleaded, following her. she walked to her room and locked the door. he reached the door just a second too late and slammed his arm against it. he rested his head on his arm and sighed again. "liz when you're ready, please come out." he said, walking off. he sat on the couch for a while and watched what was playing. he didn't care to watch it, but it kept him distracted for a little. hours past. she hadn't come out. it was night time, and she finally walked out. tears streamed down her face, and she loudly sobbed as she walked to the couch beside him. "hey, don't cry." he said, softly. she kept crying and covered her face. "i'm so sorry gavin". "why?" he replied. "don't be sorry for a thing." she gave no response. he sighed and looked at the clock. "i'm gonna get my pillow from the car, and then we can sleep, ok?" she again have no reply. she still refused to make eye contact. he walked out to the car, frozen. he police driving up to the house. he ran back inside. "lizzie, cops are here" he exclaimed. the sirens blared. she sat up and cried louder. "oh my god" she cried and backed up against the wall. officers knocked and eventually unlocked the door. "ma'am, are you aware that there is a dead body outside of your house?". "i'm sorry. i'm sorry i didn't know what i was doing. no, i did, but i didn't mean to kill him" she said. "what?" he looked around. "someone give me answers!" he shouted. no one looked at him. he ran out to the cop cars. cops surrounded his car, flashing flashlights. he ran up to them, only to find his dead body, lifeless inside. they dragged lizzie out and she screamed. "i didn't mean to kill him"
