December 31. Kurt was driving to the Anderson household. His dad wasn't exactly a huge fan of the idea of Kurt going to a friend's house on this special night. If Kurt had told him about the date -and the kiss- he would never had let him go out of the house. Finn was the only person who knew how the date went after he had been bugging Kurt for hours to find out. He even called Blaine to Kurt's annoyance. That's why he decided to tell him, but the kiss was never mentioned. On text, Blaine and Kurt had decided to not tell anyone about it until they knew what was going to happen.

"Kurt! Come on in." Blaine greeted when Kurt knocked on the front door of the big house. The first thing Kurt noticed when he saw the boy was a large bruise on the right side of his face.

"Blaine, what happened to you?" Kurt said and carefully touched the bruise with two of his fingers, but quickly pulled them away when Blaine flinched and grimaced from the pain.

"I-I don't wanna talk about it." Kurt just nodded and respected his decision even though he knew that he would probably lie about the bruise again. Blaine knew that lying to Kurt would be pointless, so he decided to just keep it a secret, the image of what happened still playing in his mind.

He went out of the car after the kiss with Kurt, and saw the boy drive away. He felt like he was on cloud nine after what happened. He could still hear the song playing and he could still feel Kurt's lips on his. He never wanted that feeling to go away.

"You're making a huge mistake, Blaine." He heard a voice say when he entered the dark house. His father's voice. He turned on the light. He hoped that no one would notice that he got home late, but apparently, his dad had been sitting by the dining table all along.

"Father." He greeted. "I didn't know you were still awake." His father stood up and walked closer to the boy on crutches.

"It's 10:39, you know I don't go to sleep until 11." Blaine pursed his lips while his dad walked closer and closer to him. "Where have you been?"

"I was on a— a date." He hesitantly said.

"I know you were. Don't you think I saw you and that other queer in their car through the window?" He balled his fist, now standing right in front of his son who knew what it meant.

"Please don't do this, Dad. I'm already on crutches, don't you think I'm suffering enough already?" As a reply, his father didn't punch him as he feared, but slapped him, causing Blaine to fall on the ground and one of the crutches landed on his sprained ankle, and he screamed out in pain

"Blaine? Blaine?! BLAINE!" Someone was shaking him, and he got snapped back to the reality.

"Excuse me, what?" He asked, looking right into the eyes of Kurt.

"Are you okay? You just zoned out for about five minutes." He asked with a concerned look on his face. Blaine nodded. "What I was saying was that your house is beautiful and huge. I know I've been here before, but I've never really seen it. We just went straight to your room."

To be honest, celebrating New Year's Eve with Blaine was one of the best things that had happened that year, if the the best. They talked for hours and really got to know each other. For some reason, family was out of the subject of the conversations, and so was Blaine's bruise. Kurt was worried that there might have been some kind of connection between the two things. He decided that if Blaine would show up with another bruise, he'll demand an explanation.

"Kurt, I actually bought you something after Christmas, but I forgot to give it to you on the date." Blaine said and left the living room.

"You shouldn't have. I haven't bought anything for you." Kurt called out, hoping that Blaine would be able to hear him. Blaine came back into the living, holding a small box, wrapped in light blue wrapping paper and a white bow on the top. When he handed it to the boy on the couch, he started to unwrap it immediately. "Thank you so much, Blaine. You really shouldn't have." Kurt said, holding up the yellow ascot tie with faded orange stripes. It was beautiful and just his style.

"I need to ask you something."

"Ask me about what?" Kurt put the ascot tie back into the box and looked at Blaine who sat down next to him. Blaine took his hand.

"Kurt, when you first joined the football team, I always knew that you were unique, I also knew that you felt like an outsider. That's why I asked the others to make you feel welcomed, both in the team and in Glee Club." He glanced over at the watch on the wall behind Kurt. 11:56. Good, he still had time. "Then I chose to befriend you, and I felt a connection between us. a connection I had never had with any of my friends. At first, I thought it was just because I felt like I could trust you more than I could trust anyone else, but after the outing and after finding out that you were the one I kissed at Santana's party, I started to think that it must've been another kind of connection. What made me realize that I felt more than a friendship, felt that I might actually be falling for you was when we kissed in your car after our lovely date." Glancing at the watch, he saw that there was 42 seconds until midnight. "What I'm trying to ask you, Kurt, is if you would like to give us a chance and me my boyfriend?" 21 seconds left of the year.

"I would love to." Kurt said and nodded his head.

13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Blaine crashed his lips onto Kurt the first second of the new year. Their year. Right there with Kurt, was the only place he wanted to be.
