It was quiet in the kitchen of the Hummel-Hudson house except for the music Kurt was playing in the kitchen. He was home alone and his hands were covered in ingredients from the pizzas he was making. Rachel and Mercedes had talked him into a sleepover at Rachel's house. Even though he didn't want to admit it, he as looking forward to spending time with his friends.
While Defying Gravity was playing, Kurt heard a knock on the door. Because of the stickiness of the ingredients on his hands, he tried to open the door with his elbow. It didn't work, so instead of trying to use his foot, he called out to the person outside.
"Door's open!" He stepped one step backwards, allowing the door to swing open, revealing Blaine. "Hey," he greeted his boyfriend.
"Kurt, what are you doing?" Blaine said while looking at Kurt's hands that were covered in flour.
"Girls night with Mercedes and Rachel tonight at Rachel's. I promised to bring pizza." Blaine chuckled lightly at him.
"And you didn't just order?" Kurt's eyes widened before he turned around and went back to the kitchen, Blaine right behind him
"Blaine, you never know what they put in that stuff. Dad and I once decided to order some food because neither of us were in the mood for anything, especially not cooking, so we ordered a pizza, and I found three pieces of plastic in the bread, while Dad found a long hair. It was one of the grossest things I've ever experienced. I haven't eaten a pizza that was ordered ever since." Blaine couldn't stop laughing at the boy who was now finishing putting the ingredients into a bowl.
"Kurt, when was it?"
"When I was eight." Kurt's face fell to Blaine's surprise. He decided to cheer up the taller boy.
"Then you don't wanna know what I got for dinner last night." Kurt grimaced.
"Gross."
"Oh, come on. It's not gross. You and your dad were just unlucky." Kurt ignored him to tease him, and continued to cook. Blaine sensed the teasing and decided to do something that Kurt couldn't ignore.
He stepped closer to Kurt, standing beside him and saw that the boy had spilled some flour on the kitchen island and took the opportunity to put his finger in it, turn his boyfriend around and drag his finger down Kurt's nose, making a white line from the bridge of his nose to the tip of it.
"Blaine!" Kurt shrieked, his mouth hanging open. He looked at his boyfriend who had to clutch his stomach to remain standing while laughing hysterically.
"Still ignoring me, Hummel?"
Instead of yelling at Blaine, he decided to take revenge and pressed his finger into the flour on the kitchen island and dragged the finger from Blaine's forehead and down to the chin.
"Really, Kurt?" Blaine snorted.
"Yes, really," his boyfriend answered. "Now help me finish the pizza."
When they finally finished putting on the topping and placing the pizza in the oven, Kurt turned to Blaine with a smirk before walking to the counter. Then he reached for the bag of flour behind him, tilting it a bit, letting the white mass fall into his hand while Blaine was looking at the oven. When Kurt tapped his shoulder, the shorter teen turned around and was thrown flour at. The first thing he did afterwards was to reach for the bag.
"Kurt, you just started a war." Before Kurt had a chance to reply, Blaine threw a handful of flour right in his face.
"My hair, Blaine!" When the flour-cloud started to slowly dissolve, Blaine saw Kurt's perfect coiffed hair being almost completely white. "You have no idea how long it takes to set it! Probably half as long as it takes for you to gel your hair."
That comment made Blaine throw even more flour at Kurt, and before they knew it, they were having a flour-war, throwing handfuls of flour at each other. Their clothes and faces were white from the flour with two minutes, and then Kurt saw a place that wasn't covered.
"And last but not least," he said, moving closer to his boyfriend. He then leaned over and pressed his lips to Blaine's making sure that the shorter boy would taste the flour. "Giving up now?"
Blaine nodded. "Yeah, yeah, you are the flour-throwing champion." Kurt smiled at him, but was cut off by someone clearing their throat. Both boys looked in the direction of the door to the kitchen. Finn was standing in the doorway, holding an apple that he had already started eating.
"You know, this isn't exactly the way most people dream of seeing their brother and best friend." Kurt rolled his eyes while Blaine bit his bottom lip.
"You're luckier than most people then," Kurt said and swung an arm around Blaine's shoulder.
"Well, I think I should warn you. My mom will be home in about half an hour, so if I was you two, I would start cleaning up this mess." Kurt's eyes widened and Finn walked towards the stairs. "I'll do my homework in my room," he called to the couple in the kitchen.
After cleaning up the kitchen, they went to Kurt's room to change. Kurt had offered Blaine to borrow some of Finn's clothes. Blaine had thanked him and went to get the clothes from Finn. Kurt used the opportunity to change quickly before Blaine would get back, but he wasn't fast enough. He was only wearing some jeans when his boyfriend came back, and quickly covered the bare skin of his upper body with a blanket from his bed.
"B, can you please go out for a second, I need to change." Blaine didn't listen and stepped farther into the room.
"Kurt, what's wrong?" As he stepped closer, Kurt hugged his body with the blanket even tighter, turning away from Blaine.
"N-nothing. I just need some privacy, Blaine. Let me change in private, please," he pleaded, but Blaine still moved closer and tried to touch his arm, but he turned away, looking down to avoid eye contact and clutching the blanket even closer to his body, tensing more every time Blaine took a step closer.
"Are-are you embarrassed about your body?" He asked carefully, not wanting to hurt Kurt's feelings, but hoping that asking the question would help the taller boy open up about his problem. Kurt nodded slowly, still avoiding Blaine's gaze. Because the boy with chestnut brown hair was silent, Blaine continued.
"We all have flaws and things we want to change about ourselves and our bodies, but we can't, because our flaws are a part of us." Kurt relaxed a bit at his words, but he was still tense and his eyes were still showing signs of fear. "We can't judge each other because of our bodies, because it doesn't matter. What matters is who we are inside of us. And of all people, why would I judge you?"
Kurt mumbled something that Blaine was unable to hear.
"Kurt, please remove the blanket." The boy tried to hide his upper body even more, tensing even more. He shook his head. "Let me see you. Let me show you that—" Blaine didn't expect to get cut off.
"I'm afraid that you'll leave me, alright?!" Not expecting to hear that, Blaine froze in his tracks.
"Wait, what?"
"You can easily have any gay or bi guy and you chose me. I'm just— I'm just afraid that you'll break up with me if you see my body." Both boys pursed their lips.
"Why would I ever want to leave you? I already told you that flaws don't matter." Blaine started to hold onto the hem of his own shirt. "Now that we're in a relationship, we need to trust each other, and not be afraid to know that we have flaws." He pulled the shirt over his head and folded the shirt before putting in on Kurt's table. "I've been embarrassed about my body too. If you let go of that blanket, we can beat this together."
With shaking hands, Kurt slowly removed the blanket, exposing his upper body. Blaine couldn't look away, but he still went to his boyfriend and hugged him tightly, feeling the warmth of Kurt's pale skin.
"I don't see any flaws, Kurt. You're absolutely perfect," he whispered in his ear. "Even when you have flour all over you."
