Blakelynn
"Dansby, Alabama vs. Auburn is on. Hurry up!" I yelled from the living room. When I didn't get a response I decided to head to his room.
"Dansby?"
"Go away." His voice was muffled by the pillow.
"Oh God. Your sick aren't you?" He always did this every time he was sick. He didn't want anyone to see him as weak so he pushes me away until he's basically dying.
"Mhm."
I climbed into his bed. His pride always got in the way of his health.
"Blakelynn. I mean it. Out." Be lifted his head off the pillow.
"Oh my God. You look terrible." His eyes were puffy and his nose was red. You could see sweat beading on his forehead.
"Thanks. Now leave."
"Nope. I'm talking care of you."
"Blakelynn Athena Madison Adams."
"Wow. Using my whole name. You must be really mad."
"I'm serious. Get out, Blake."
"Fine, but this time you can't crawl to me when you realize that I'm right."
I walked to the kitchen and grabbed some powerade and water from the refrigerator before setting them by his door.
It only took about an hour before I heard him come into the living room.
"Blakelynn," he whined.
"Yes, Dansby?" I hadn't even bothered to lift my head.
"You were right."
It was then that I decided to look up at him. "Holy shit."
He looked terrible. He had to look 10 times worse than earlier. His clothes were soaked and sticking to his body.
"Go take a cold shower, Dans. I'll get you some new clothes."
He walked away and started the shower as I went to his bedroom to get him some shorts and underwear.
When I walked into the bathroom to bring him his clothes, I saw that he was already waiting with a towel wrapped around his waist. I looked him up and down. He was hot. I've always thought he was, but right now I just couldn't stop staring.
I finally snapped out of my trance when he called my name. I handed him the clothes and hurried out, taking a deep breath as I did so.
He walked out dressed in just the shorts I gave him. "Go lay on the couch and I'll be in there in a second," I instructed him.
I grabbed him a water and some medicine and gave them to him. When I was walking away he called my name.
"Yes?"
"Cuddle?" That was all he said before he pulled me on to the couch with him. Dansby is the biggest baby when he's sick.
We decided on laying there all day until he felt better. We watched 4 movies before he finally drifted off to sleep. I ran my fingers through his hair as I watched his chest rise and fall.
I didn't expect that I would fall asleep too. I also didn't expect to be woken up by my sudden urge to puke.
I wiggled out of Dansby's grasp and ran to the bathroom. When I was emptying the contents of my stomach, I felt Dansby's hand on my back rubbing soft circles.
I sat up and he wrapped his arms around me. I had never fallen asleep in the bathroom floor with Dansby, but there's always a first time for everything.
