BLAKELYNN

"Would you just move back in? You're staying at my parents house right now. I don't see why you can't just stay at out apartment," Dansby said to me.

I nervously chewed my bottom lip.

"Stop doing that," Dansby said.

"Doing what?" I asked.

"You're stupid nervous tick. That's what you do when you want to say yes, but you're just being to complicated about it," he spoke.

I sighed. "I just don't know if I should."

"Why? There's no reason not to," he said.

"What if Jacob doesn't want me to?" I asked. Jacob was insecure. I knew he wouldn't like it.

"When did you start doing what other people wanted you to do?" Dansby asked.

"Okay, fine," I said with a sigh. "I'll move back in," I agreed.

"I'm going to pretend that you said that with enthusiasm," Dansby said, making me laugh.

"I missed that laugh," He said, looking into my eyes.

I blushed a little, as I usually did when he complimented me, and I was thankful for the Georgia heat.

"Your birthday is coming up, ya know."

I looked over at Dansby. I was surprised that he remembered my birthday was coming up when even I didn't.

"I completely forgot about it," I said.

"It's literally tomorrow," he said, confused as to how I could forget.

"It slipped my mind," I shrugged.

"Well, I got you a gift, and I don't want to wait anymore for you to open it," Dansby said, handing me an envelope.

I eyed him suspiciously.

"Open it!"

I laughed and tore it open.

"Holy shit, Dansby!" I said as I looked at two backstage passes to Khalid's concert next week. "These have been sold out for two months."

"I got them two months ago," he said, shocking me. I wasn't even around 2 months ago, and he still thought to get me a birthday gift.

"Thank you so much!" I said, wrapping my arms around him in a hug. I almost forgot we were in public until I could feel eyes on us from every direction.

"You've got fans," I whispered to Dansby.

He looked around and chuckled.

"Who are you bringing to the concert with you?" He asked shyly.

"I don't know. I'll have to think about it," I said jokingly. I watched as his face fell.

"I'm just kidding, Dansby. Of course I'm bringing you," I said.

His face lit up. "Oh, thank god! You scared me."

"I don't know if anything
is going to top this gift, Dans," I said to him.

"They can't. You're meeting your idol," he said. "I'm the best gift-giver."

I laughed and wrapped my arms around him again. "Thank you again, Dansby."

"Anything for you, Blake," he said, not letting go of me.
