BLAKELYNN

I hadn't exactly expected my morning to start so early. I woke up around 5:00 a.m. to a very naked Dansby and very intense stomach pain.

Dansby and I had been sticking to our 'friendly sex' deal for 2 weeks now.

I rolled over and glanced at the clock, groaning when I realized that I had been awake for over 2 hours now. I hissed as my stomach began hurting worse.

"You good, Blake?"

"Crap. Did I wake you up?" I asked. He had to report to the field in two hours, so he needed as much rest as possible.

"Yeah, but it's fine. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. My stomach just hurts a little bit, but I'll still be at your game today. Don't worry," I said with a small smile.

"Blake, you don't have to go. I'll be just as happy if you watch from here."

"No. I'm gonna go. You should start getting ready."

"Whatever you say, pretty lady."

*****

Dansby was right. I should've just stayed and watched from the living room.

On my way to the car alone, I threw up twice, and the pain was only getting worse.

Walking to my seat with a groan, I ran into Chase, Dansby's brother.

"Hey, Blak-

I cut him of by vomiting straight into the trash can that was right next to me

"Woah. Are you alright?"

"Perfectly fine," I said with a fake smile. I hadn't got to watch Dansby yet, and I knew that he really wanted me to be here.

I saw the skeptical look he gave me. "Really, Chase, I'm fine. I'll even be sitting with the WAGs so they'll take me home if it gets too bad."

"Okay, Blake. Whatever you say."

With that, I made my way over to the seats.

"Girl, you look like death." I turned my head into the direction of the voice.

"I feel like it too, Chelsea," I said as I took my seat.

"What's wrong?"

"Just really bad stomach pain. I've been throwing up too, so maybe it's just something I ate."

We chatted as the game went on and by the sixth inning, I couldn't contain the moans of pain that left my lips.

"Blakelynn, I think you should leave. Dansby will know that you still support him even if your not here."

"I'm fine. I think i'm just gonna get some water."

As I stood up to grab a drink, I saw the field spinning around me and my ass was met with the very, very hard concrete ground beneath me.

"Okay. You're not going home. You're going to the hospital. I'm taking you myself so that you can't fight it."

I knew she was right, so I didn't even argue against it. "Just don't tell Dansby until after the game. Playing the Diamondbacks is really important for him."

"Sure thing. Let's get going, Blake."

********

I've never been a fan of hospitals. Being here was like being in a nightmare, and I just wanted Dansby here with me.

Chelsea had to leave to get Charlie, and I assured her that I was perfectly fine being alone her. If I had known that I was getting my appendix removed, then I would've asked her to stay.

I was pulled from my thoughts from a knock at my door. Before I could even answer, Chase walked in.

I was still mad at him for the whole fighting Dansby and saying that we had sex situation, but I couldn't help but feel grateful that he was here.

Wordlessly, he climbed into my bed and pulled me between his legs, so that my head was resting on his chest.

"I'm sorry, Blake."

"It's okay." I couldn't deny that I hadn't missed him. He's been apart of my life since birth.

"So, you had the surgery already?"

I nodded my head. I was so tired and I couldn't bring myself to speak anymore. I hadn't even realized that I fell asleep until I was woken up by yelling.

"Listen, man. I'm here now, so you can leave."

I immediately recognized the voice as Dansby's.

"Yeah, well, I've been here. Blakelynn is scared to death of hospitals and you couldn't even be here with her until now. I think that says something about you, Swanson."

"Are you really questioning my character? I don't even really know you, but if you want to keep talking like that, I won't hesitate to beat your ass one more time."

"I am questioning you character. You and Blake claim to be 'best friends'. I just think that if that were actually true, then you would be there for her when she needed you." I can feel Chase's chest rising and falling rapidly as her talks.

"I didn't even know that she was here. I didn't know that she was having surgery. I didn't even know that any of this was happening until after my game, per Blakelynn's request, so you can fuck off."

"Both of you can shut up. I have had a pretty rough day, and I am trying to sleep. I can't do that when there are 2 men, who are acting like children, in my room screaming at each other."

"He needs to leave," Dansby said, gesturing to Chase.

"No. I'm staying. You can leave."

"I'm tired of dealing with this. Both of you can leave."

"You're kidding, Blake," Dansby said.

"I'm not. You guys can't be mature enough to even be in the same room."

"Unbelievable," I hear Dansby mumble as he walks out, clearly frustrated.

"You need to leave too, Chase."

"Why? It's so quiet now that he's gone."

"Chase, seriously."

"Fine, but just know that I'm right about Dansby. He's short-tempered and a player. You should stay away from him."

I sighed as the room grew extremely quiet once Chase left. I closed my eyes and finally, was able to get some rest.
