"Wait, you already know each other?" Mark said

"Uh yeah, he's my neighbour" i replied

"What a small world!" Mark said

"Anyway, y/n" Mark continued

"Your dad said that you could sing"

"What? No i can't" i replied

I don't sing, at least not in public

"Yes you can, i heard the recording" Mark said again

"What the heck dad?!" i said as he started laughing

"Just listen to the man" my dad said again

"Okay fine, what were you saying" i said as i turned my attention back to my uncle

"We need you to do the back up vocals for Ruel's new songs" Mark said

"Why me? I don't sing, what about Kyla, maybe even Zoe?" i said to him, not that i didn't want to sing with ruel, its just that i don't like my voice

"Kyla is 5 y/n and we all know that Zoe hates me and literally everyone else, common, do this for me...and Ruel" Mark said again

"Really? You want Zoe to do it? If you wanted something to do with us, she wouldn't have run away" dad said

"Can i please think about it? Give me ten minutes." I said as i walked outside

I probably shouldn't have mentioned Zoe. She was my older sister. I say 'was' because she left us. I haven't seen her in a while, but she texts me still.

A tear slipped out of my eye as i thought about her.

"Are you alright?" A familiar voice said from behind me

"Um yeah im fine" i replied as i wiped away my tears

"If you dont want to do it, thats 100% okay" he said to me

"no , no, i want to do it" i said

"Really?" he asked

"Of course" i responded

"Wait, who is Zoe?" Ruel said

"If you dont mind me asking" Ruel said again

"Um, so basically Zoe is my older sister, she left home when she finished school with her boyfriend, she didn't tell anyone that she left and there was a huge police hunt. She then felt bad so she sent a letter saying she was fine, and left her number. No one really talks about her and i don't think that she has ever met Kyla. All i know is that she's pregnant now and yeah" i replied to him

"Jesus y/n, i didn't know, im sorry" ruel said sympathetically

"No its fine, i need to get over it" i said to him

"Common, lets get back inside" ruel said as he pulled me into one of his famous hugs, which i absolutely love

"Ill do it" i said as i walked back inside to see my uncle

"Oh thank god! We start in 2 weeks" he said as i got ready to leave

"Thank You so much uncle mark!" i said as i gave him a hug

"Bye guys!" i said to Kate and Ruel

The drive home was quiet, dad had the radio on and we just sat there in comfortable silence.

Today was a wack day, like seriously, i had my first day at a new school, my asshole of an ex friend came and harassed me, my brother then got in a fight with him, he ran away, got drunk, me and ruel found him, took him home, and i then went to the studio only to figure out that i would be working with my crush
