"Is that an offense?" Asked little Black with a gesture of confusion on her face, it was obvious that she was not yet familiar with that strange term.

"For me it would be a compliment," said Severus who rose from the ground with some regret. Only with Lily's help had he been able to get out of that quicksand.

"What do you mean?" Calynn wondered how that adjective could be a compliment, she didn't really fully understand what was happening.

"You are a witch," the boy said directly. Lily turned to see him slightly uncomfortable, she knew that her friend would not understand the connotation of the term at that time.

"Is it nice to say that to a girl?" Calynn snapped angrily, her voice trembling and her heart racing. Why did her two best friends suddenly turn against her like that? The girl glared at both of them before running away to her home without turning back, she was tired of having to deal with problems in which she was not the cause.

She arrived at the porch of her home and then began to open the door when the sky began to darken, it was obvious that the rain would arrive in a few minutes, so she hurried to introduce the key in the lock, trying to see through the tears crystalline that covered her eyes.

She opened the door as soon as the first drops began to descend and quickly entered the house. She slammed the door and went straight to the stairs after hearing a shout from her mother.

"Your friends already rejected you? Too bad, I thought you wouldn't come back!" Druella's voice rang in her ears, the only thing that had caused those words was a feeling of guilt and sadness deeper than she already had.

She climbed the steps and went to her room without looking back at her mother, she was not in the mood to hear more comments related to her friends. She just sat there in bed, not knowing exactly what to think. She had two main concerns: The attitude of her friends and how the incident of the quicksand had happened, how was it that Severus was so sure it had been her?

The hours passed slowly, she no longer wanted to do anything but cry, she was not hungry despite having spent several hours without eating. She needed someone to hug her, she felt that in a few minutes she didn't understand what was going on around her.

When it was almost time for dinner, someone knocked on her bedroom door.

"Daughter, please come out, it's time for dinner," said her father from the other side of the door.

"Leave me alone," the girl replied quite sadly in her voice.

"Daughter, please, your mother is furious. It's time for dinner and I've told him to wait for you, now he doesn't stop cursing because she's starving," said the man, quite distressed and eating the words.

"Don't wait for me, I don't think I'll ever get out of here." Calynn spoke louder than he would have liked.

A small silence was made after that comment, so Calynn thought that Cygnus had already left when his voice dropped him betrayed his presence.

"Druella doesn't let me do this, much less at home, but I think I have no choice," he said as she heard how he looked for something in his coat bag "Alohomora!"

Instantly, the door of the little girl's room opened quickly, causing a rumble as the man carrying a wand in his hand kept it in disguise and approached his daughter who was quite scared. She knew the door was locked; how could he have opened it without hurting it a little?

"Nothing happens, what happened today with your friends?" Asked the man without sounding worried. He had put an arm behind her to comfort his daughter.

"One of my best friends insulted me and Lily didn't do anything to try to defend me, but it would have been because of her attitudes, maybe she wouldn't have hidden me to listen to them," she sobbed as she hugged her father, finally had someone hugging her and It inspired confidence.

A second later the man moved away from Calynn a little and asked her seriously:

"And what did they tell you?"

"Witch, the very indecent," she said still angrily.

"Who has it been?" Asked the man in the same tone.

"Severus," she muttered, "Severus Snape," she said in a louder voice to make sure he had heard her.

"Why did he tell you?" Calynn noticed a certain gesture much more serious than he had when he had hugged her.

"That doesn't matter, I don't want to talk about it," she said sharply as she wiped her tears from her face. A minute of silence was between them until the girl broke it with enough curiosity. "Dad, how did you open the door?"

The man who just gave him a smile didn't know what to answer, he thought for a moment until he dared to say something.

"That doesn't matter," he finished with a smile as the little girl returned it and threw herself into his arms, the father was reciprocal until a shout brought them out of her reverie.

"You better going down squib girl or I'll go up for you!" Druella's desperate voice was heard from below, at the same time it sounded too annoying.

Dinner was pretty quiet, nobody talked about it. However, Calynn still did not know very well why her father had not explained how he had opened the door, he would have to stay with that curiosity at least during that night.

The girl went up to her room to sleep while her two parents stayed on the lower floor to chat for another moment.

"If their son says so, we must believe it, Druella," Cygnus commented as he finished what was left on his plate. "It must have been something extraordinary for the boy to have mentioned," he added.

"I know that, we're going to be forced to take the risk of a boy's words," the woman remarked this time.

"Tomorrow we will tell her, I think she already suspect it slightly after the door incident." Cygnus looked tired, apparently, he was no longer sure what he was saying, as if the actions were not entirely his.

"I know that too. But I don't want her to meet much more with those friends she has," she added.

"But Druella, it's thanks to them that we learn that our daughter has powers, why not allow her to be with them?"

"No, it was thanks to me that we knew that and it's an order. No more will be reunited with these children," said the woman. Cygnus was going to reply, but he made a gesture of confusion and fell silent, looking down. "Besides, the sooner the better, I don't think I can take any more time in this shack," she finished as she finished dinner and rose from the table without saying a word. Cygnus just stayed there without knowing exactly what to do.
