Chapter Twenty-Seven: Afternoon at the Lake

When they reached the common room after the night in the forest, Meryl had left the infirmary and waited for them to arrive from the Forbidden Forest.

"How nice you could get out of the infirmary, friend," Calynn said to the blonde.

"How was the Forbidden Forest?" Asked the blonde.

"It's good to exercise your feet," the little girl joked, remembering when she was chased by the centaurs.

"And your teeth have returned to normal size?" Asked Frank.

"I think so, although I notice them bigger than before. But I am grateful that it did not remain as a beaver," said the blonde, smiling so that they could observe the whitish teeth.

After explaining to Meryl what their search for the Forbidden Forest consisted of, they went to sleep in the cozy beds.

The days flew by, the first Quidditch game was approaching and the students were elated.

The cold began, as well as the enthusiasm for Halloween that was only fifteen days away. Frank was the one who hated the flight class because until the third class he couldn't get on the broom, unlike Lily who had been very good. In the class that is best for Meryl, it is DCAO although she does not put any effort into any subject, Calynn had a great ability for DCAO and Charms, although not as much as Lily who had already read half of all the books and studied as many hours as she could, it was something the girl really enjoyed.

The Halloween feast was approaching, the second graders had explained to the first graders what it was and now they were eager for it to arrive.

"Lily, what page did he say?" Meryl asked the redhead during potions class one day before the Halloween feast.

"Hello, my dear students, today we are going to learn how to prepare the Boil Healing Potion, also known simply as a Boiling Cure Potion, for this you will need the following ingredients," explained the potions professor.

The man said all they would need, the steps to elaborate it and told them to begin.

They began to crush the snake fangs. Meryl struggled with the fangs while Lily beside her crushed them very easily moving quickly to the next step.

Meanwhile, a table next to her was Frank and Calynn, the boy had approached Little Black's cauldron to help her with the ingredients while smiling slightly at her.

They followed the normal class. When Lily was already in step three, Meryl was still trying to crush the fangs with great force as if that would help.

"This is a waste of time!" Expressed the blonde pounding her fangs even harder when one of them shot off while some students watched it. Mary MacDonald stepped back to prevent the fang from falling, but she was scared to collide with a Slytherin girl named Amelie, the fang fell into the eye of the Gryffindor and pulled back with much pain pushing the Slytherin who collided with her cauldron. This caused this to fall spreading all the potion all over the ground causing some students to move away so that the potion would not burn them.

"My potion..." Slytherin's brunette girl expressed as she suddenly changed her hair color from black to dark blue. "You ruined my potion, Gryffindor girl, now fix it."

"I will not do your job for you, Slytherin girl," said the Gryffindor without avoiding sounding in disgust as she covered her sore eye.

Slytherin's little girl apparently didn't want problems because she didn't answer Mary, but she began to cry silently while at one end of the class where James and his friends were, one of them began to laugh out loud while Lily and Calynn approached the dark-skinned girl to comfort her.
