"The curse what?" Asked Little Black confused.

Dumbledore began to move forward while the little girl followed in his footsteps while taking her belongings that she had brought to the forest, she felt too weakened to go at a rapid pace, which the old man noticed and slowed down. Calynn only felt how her eyes wanted to close from exhaustion and attacks by the dementors.

"You are too tired, aren't you, Miss Black?" Dumbledore mentioned.

"So tired that you can read my mind quickly," the girl replied before giving a yawn. Albus just smiled, he knew that behind that little girl was a bright and mature mind.

They continued walking towards the castle, between the darkness that the same forest offered him with the help of the wand of both giving rays of light to illuminate the ground.

They were about to leave the Forbidden Forest when two people, one on each side, separated them both quite forcefully, little Black was quickly baffled and began to struggle as she felt a wand stuck to her neck, when she heard an unknown voice.

"Code," the stranger asked the director.

"The enemies of Hogwarts will only be those who do not raise their wand with a good heart," the old man recited to later release both of them and return their wands.

"We're sorry, Dumbledore," both people mentioned.

"You don't have to apologize, that shows the good work you are doing. Good night," said the director with a nod as they resumed their passage.

"Who were they?" Asked Little Black without being able to avoid curiosity.

"Aurors, the best aurors in the magical world if I can say that way," Dumbledore explained. "Now more than ever it is when we must have the castle protected, and it would not be surprising if some Death Eater tried to pass through me to enter without problems, especially at night that is when Professor McGonagall and I wait for the attack," Dumbledore finished while little girl looked around. She saw that the grounds were completely surrounded by aurors that were on guard, were even more than during the day and some carried crossbows or swords with them, that only frightened the little girl more. "What did your mother tell you, Miss Black? In the letter you received today," Dumbledore said with enough concern.

The girl told him the content of the letter while the old man worried more than he already was, but still thinking.

They arrived at the entrance of the school, the director made a spell and immediately heard a movement of chains and locks that could possibly protect the castle from the inside. After a few seconds they opened and gave way, at their sides they watched a couple of aurors with wand in hand who greeted them cordially. The little girl was about to go up to her common room when the old man called her.

"Would you mind accompanying me to the office? I would like to say that this situation can wait, but it is not so," Dumbledore explained.

The little girl looked at the clock that was in the middle of the hall, it was going to take two in the morning. Calynn thought for a few moments, but then decided to follow the director up the stairs.

The man closed the door behind her and she sat in front of the desk as during all the classes they had taken, the man opened a drawer from his desk and took out a huge chocolate bar and handed it to little Black.

"Eat it, it's good to recover from the dementors," Dumbledore pointed out.

"Thank you," she replied before taking the first bite. Dumbledore did not lie, it was as if the emptiness was filled again, as if part of her happiness returned quickly, she continued tasting it as if she had never eaten one.
