Chapter sixteen: Diagon Alley Part III

The children were walking down the alley while they took out their list of Hogwarts and watched the things that were still to be bought.

"We still have to buy the wand, the cauldron, the scales, the owl..." Severus began, "I think we should look for the wand store and also the things for potions."

"What do you think if Severus and I go to buy the potions stuff while you go for your wand?" Asked Lily kindly.

"Could you also buy my potions stuff?" Asked the little girl as she began to search the coin bag.

Both boys nodded. The little girl handed them the money, said goodbye to her friends and started looking for the wand shop.

Calynn walked and watched the shops, the people passing by and the weather, gave thanks to the weather being well maintained because they still had a long way to go. She was excited, she would finally have a wand and she was eager to know what it would be like and how she could use it.

She looked anxiously at all the shop windows waiting to see boxes with wands of all possible styles.

The little girl went through a colorful store that apparently sold joke items where several children rushed to see the items while one or another smoke bomb flooded the place, leaving it completely full of smoke and the children ran away trying without looking back, fleeing from that place and achieving their goal, they stopped a little further to recover the air. She kept walking, trying to contain the laughter and passed a second-hand clothing store where a group of people watched a green robe while shaking their heads, kept walking without stopping and next to the second-hand store she found the boxes of wands displayed in the windows that could be seen from outside. She looked up and found that the store was a black color, on the facade, with gold letters, said Ollivander's and looked a bit old. She entered the store trying to control her enthusiasm, although it was impossible.

"Good ..." the little girl began, but it didn't end because she didn't know what time it was.

"Afternoon," the man in charge of the store completed the phrase kindly.

"I would like to buy a wand, could you show me some designs?" Said Calynn, almost screaming with joy.

The man smiled and then laughed.

Calynn was paralyzed and at the same time confused, she didn't know what was funny, she even thought that maybe something had happened behind her. After a moment the man stopped laughing and returned to the position with which she had found him when she entered the place.

"The wand chooses the wizard, Miss Black, not the wizard to the wand," said the man with a smile on his face.

The girl opened her eyes quite impressed not only by what the man had just explained, but by hearing her name.

"How do you know my name, sir...?" Said the bewildered girl and not knowing what to call that person.

"Olivander," the man said as she shook the girl's hand and she returned it, still bewildered.

After a pause the man continued.

"You have your mother's face, Druella," Ollivander said with a smile.

The little girl wished she hadn't heard that since she again felt anger and sadness inside her, the last thing she wanted was to have some physical trace of that witch, she didn't want any rest of that woman in her.

"Thank you," the little girl replied almost in a whisper, without that word being entirely convincing.

"And your father's kindness," the man added after the girl's cordiality.
