"Yes..." the boy answered nervously, but his words were not convincing.

"You don't sound very sure," Calynn said angrily and defiantly at the same time.

"Yes!" He shouted angrily.

"Then, say it," the girl insisted. "Tell us your reasons, I think we both deserve it," she added as Lily tried to interrupt her.

"You wouldn't forgive me," Severus whispered and then ran away.

"Is it really that serious?" Lily commented without knowing why Severus was behaving so strangely.

"Apparently yes," said Little Black.

"I think we have to go to lunch," said the redhead trying to forget what had just happened.

"It's all right," Calynn said wistfully as she now regretted having fought with Severus.

The afternoon passed naturally and even a bit boring since Calynn was quite tired of History of Magic unlike Lily who, apparently, had enjoyed it a lot. At the end of that class they spent some time in the common room doing the duties of Defense Against the Dark Arts with Meryl and Frank who apparently had gotten along. The task was to make a summary so it didn't take long and they went down to dinner early.

"What do you think of DCAO?" Asked Frank as they descended the stairs.

"DCAO?" Repeated Calynn confused.

"Defend Against the Dark Arts," Frank explained kindly.

They all replied that they liked it.

"Wow, wow..." someone dragged the words behind them, "I was hoping I would not see the redhead again," he teased.

Everyone turned and looked at Lucius Malfoy along with his friend Avery.

"What do you want now, Malfoy?" Asked Calynn with disgust.

"Miss, nobody, I never thought to see her again and even less with the last name Black," said the blond, seeing her from head to toe, which greatly bothered the girl who hated that immature child.

"Well, you thought badly," Lily replied.

"Who are you to speak to me? Filthy Muggle weasel," Lucius scoffed.

"Leave her alone," little Black defended her friend.

"I see. And you are?" Malfoy asked, addressing Meryl.

"Meryl Johnson," she said fearfully and at the same time with some disgust, it was obvious that the girl could not stand the snake house.

"Your last name says it all, Muggle last name," said the blond with a grimace of disgust. There was a pause without anyone saying a word. "You are not worthy of being with a mob like this," Malfoy added to Calynn, sounding more pleasant than the child would have allowed.

"The type of blood doesn't matter," said Little Black, rolling her eyes at his comment.

"It's your problem to keep staining your blood," he paused, "you just have to be in Gryffindor."

"Gryffindor is the best house, Malfoy," Frank commented, facing Calynn.

"Longbottom, I didn't imagine you would fall so low," the blonde dragged the words.

"I don't understand you," Frank replied after a moment. "You don't want to talk about what happened years ago, right?"

"Oh, of course a blood traitor like you doesn't understand," Malfoy challenged. "And I don't need to bring those memories, you seem to be the one who forgot his promises."
