CHAPTER FIVE
"Maya! I don't know what's happening to me."
"What are you talking about? Are you crazy? Why are you still awake? Isn't it already twelve midnight in the Philippines?"
"Oh! I don't know what's going on, but I want you to listen to me. I think I'm stuck in a spell or something..."
"Ha-ha! You're definitely insane. But as your best friend, I would gladly listen to your crazy imagination..."
"Whatever. But, here it goes. Since high school I have already told you about the symptoms right? Nose bleeding, dark spots, loss of appetite, and you've seen me faint a lot before right?"
"I don't actually remember... but, well, go on..."
"Oh, come on. You better remember! And this summer we founded out that I have Leukemia. And then I had my chemo one time and I was left alone in the hospital then I sneaked in to the balcony and met this girl named A and we talked about her life and she was about to give up and I gave her an advice and then I suddenly fell into a dream where I talked to her mom and she gave me a chance which is more like a miracle to be normal again and when I woke up I was at the hospital and I thought it was a dream but it wasn't because I don't have any cancer anymore and then I came to realize that losing my cancer also means losing my boyfriend... what on earth is happening!?"
"Uhm, you smokin' weed or something?"
"Come on, Maya!"
"You have a pretty good imagination but, dude, dreaming that you got cancer is a bad idea. And meeting a soul is kinda creepy."
"She's more like an angel though. But what I don't get is why wouldn't William remember me? And why did he tell me that I rejected him three years ago?"
"Because that is actually the truth; you did actually turn down on him three years ago. For unknown reasons... and I still don't get it why you're dating Marco until now."
"What!? Marco? You mean, Marco Grey? My partner at the summer festival three years ago?"
"Yeah. And dude, I wonder how you stayed a virgin until now. That guy is like a drug that seduces every woman 'ya know."
"Well, of course I won't just give myself to anyone like that! I'm not so desperate."
"Haha, yeah, I know."
"But, did I really put William down?"
"Yeah. You did. He was a good shot... but it was like you're not ready for real love yet. So, you're still single and you're stuck dating M.G."
"I can't believe this..."
"I can't believe it too. Good thing you finally realized such things."
"Oh, now what am I gonna do. Ugh. This is bad. I wanna get things back with Will."
"It won't be that easy, though. Because you made him promise not to date any girl until he has finally proven himself. Which means... he has to finish his medical career."
"What!?"
"Poor guy."
"I need to make it up to him. I'm so bad."
"So, you're telling me you wanna win back his heart?""Yes. If that's all I could ever do. I will."
