CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Marco and Auden arrived a few minutes later. By then I was already done cleaning the room and took a shower. It seemed like nothing happened, but the pain from the memory of him walking away was still there.

"Where's Willie?"

Willie?

"He left early I think... he might be jogging around outside. I haven't seen him." I tried to avoid Marco's eyes. He walked closer to me and hugged me on the back. He suddenly kissed my neck.

"Still as irresistible as always." He mumbled.

I sighed and smiled. There's nothing I can do. This is my second life after all.

Marco took me to Dauis that afternoon to see the sunset. We walked at the Dauis church with his hands all wrapped around mine. He felt so gentle and calm; he smiles all the time... his face always brighten up whenever he's done saying something.

"Aren't you having a great time, Jane?"
"Oh, of course I am having a great time."
"Uh, you've been acting weird lately."
"What do you mean?"
"Those years of courting you around, seems to be different the way we are now..."
"Oh."

My second life kind of surprised me and has given me the shivers... I missed the things I had been doing, which led me to this and left Will behind.

"Well, Marco... I-I..."
"Nah, there's no need to explain. I get it Jane. You need to finish your studies first."
"Uhm, yeah. Right."

We walked closer to the river side and sat by the green grass.

"Will you honestly tell me something, Jane?"
"Sure. What about?"
"About us. Is there a hope for it?" He looked down. I suddenly felt a sudden change of feeling. Marco never changed... he's still the mood swinger (which means light mood swinger) I've always known.

I didn't say anything, and well, he made a fake smile.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"It's just that I'm afraid." I turned to him and whispered, "I'm afraid I might be already falling for you."

He smiled, and he held my hand...
"Don't worry Jane. I'll always be here to catch you."

He finally leaned in, then we kissed... and suddenly, fire ignited within us.
