*2 weeks later*
I went inside my parent's room and took a little glance of them before I leave our house in Owatonna. Just for a few days, probably. I'll probably be back soon. I just need to rest for a while, find myself for a while, escape from this shock for a while.
I put a few things in my black leather coat: A teargas, a hand warmer, a flashlight and a lipbalm. It was below 0 and the snow was falling hard. Not knowing where to go with my $100 that I kept for a long time, There were no hotels nearby and I was tired so I decided to take a break on the bench I found while walking away from home. It was getting dark and a guy slowly walked on the road, conpletely unware as a car almost hits him. I shout and push him away, mere inches apart he were from the car. He gets up slowly, "T-thanks."
"Dude, were you trying to kill yourself?" Not long enough, I heard the guy beside me mumble a few words, which I didn't seem to understand completely, but one thing was sure-- it was a familiar voice to me.I was a little scared, but he seemed to be a nice person. Though I didn't see his face completely since he was looking down and it was 11 PM, there was something that told me he'll keep me safe.
I got into the bench beside and he does, too.
As I fell into trance, I felt a heavy thing plummet onto my shoulder.
It was the his head, falling asleep on my arms.
"Um hello?" I shook my shoulder.
"Oh. I'm sorry." He said with shame.
"What are you doing at 11 PM walking slowly on the road?" I said with confusion drawn on my face.
"I must've gotten tired while walking around." He said.
Out of curiosity, I took my flashlight out of my coat and looked at his face. In my surprise, it was Adam.
"Stop it with the light!" He covered his face.
"A...dam?!" I said with surprise. I was happy to find him and I hope he was, too. I couldn't get him off my mind ever since we met each other.
"And you're?" He held his nape in confusion. Not to mention that we were literally talking in the dark.
"Brielle!" I said. "Remember? The girl who helped you unload those boxes?" I added.
Adam's POV
"Brielle!" She said. "Remember? The girl who helped you unload those boxes?"
It was 2 AM, dark here in Owatonna, with heavy snowfall and I just found myself asleep on this girl's shoulder.
The girl who recently just saved my life.
Brielle was a girl with dirty blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes.
Her voice just started cracking up as she said the word "Brielle." She needs a cup of coffee or something to keep her warm.
"Ah, I see." I said. "I, you know. Need to go home now." I said. Then again, I lost my chance on a very beautiful girl.
But I promised myself to not ever fall in love again, no matter who comes, and no matter what happens.
I didn't clearly see her face, but she seemed to be disappointed.
"Need a ride?" I asked her.
"No, I actually ran away from home." She said.
I looked at her, trying to figure out what her emotion was. It can be really hard talking in the dark. Even talking itself is hard.
"You have a place to say at?" I whispered. Wondering if she heard me, though, I'm an extremely shy guy ever since I faced the biggest disappointment in my life, but this girl seemed like she needed a place to stay at.
