A Year Later

g-guys... this is the last chapter....

"Kaminari stop fucking splashing me!"

"Make me bitch."

"Excuse me?"

"Ye- AGHGSGG!!"

Deku and I giggled as we watched Jirou chase Kaminari out of the water and up the sand. Sero laughed and ran after them, wanting to join their fun. We watched as they ran up to where Shinsou and Yaoyorozu were laying in towels, jumping over them and kicking sand in their faces. Shinsou started screaming something inaudible at them.

Deku laughed again and ran deeper into the ocean, water splashing at his ankles. I smiled and followed him, taking his hand.

Once it started to get dark, we all gathered around our towels, sitting in the sand and drying off. Shinsou has started a fire and Yaoyorozu began roasting marshmallows for s'mores. We talked and laughed, eating the desserts under the starry night sky.

Before long, Kaminari and Ashido were starting to nod off on each other's shoulders. I decided to strike up a conversation since I couldn't have them falling asleep yet. I had something planned for later.

"Hey guys. Who wants to play a game or something?" I asked.

"I'm tired though," Ashido whined.

"Come on. It's only 10," I replied. "Deku, what should we play?"

"I-I don't know," he said.

I sighed. "Well how about we just talk then?" I said, a bit annoyed. I looked at Momo and Shinsou for help as they knew what I had planned. I couldn't trust the others with such a big secret.

"Uh ok," Momo started. "So guess what? Jirou went to work yesterday and while she was gone, I went to the grocery store. There was this guy there. Let me tell you..." She continued with the obviously made up story, trying her best to keep the others intrigued.

After a bit, I realized that they were getting bored so I had no choice. I nodded at Shinsou, signaling to begin our plan.

"Hey Midoriya," he said. "Come here I want to show you something." He pulled out his phone.

"Ok!" Deku exclaimed, jumping up and going over to where Shinsou was sitting. I got up too, trying my best not to make a single sound as I came up behind him.

I got down on one knee and pulled a small box out of my pocket. Kaminari and Ashido gasped, sitting straight up. I shushed them and they smiled widely.

"That's really cool Shinsou," Deku said before spinning around to return to his seat.

As soon as he saw me, his hands flew to his mouth, his eyes tearing up.

"Deku," I started.

"Oh my god."

I opened the box to reveal a beautiful ring studded with emeralds. "Will you marry me?"

Deku let out a whine before nodding his head violently. I stood up and put the ring in his finger before he practically jumped into my arms. I felt him crying and I heard my friends clapping and cheering around me.

Deku pulled away and we looked into each other's eyes, tears streaming down our cheeks. I grabbed them and pulled him into a kiss the same way he had the very first time.

After a bit, we each headed home to our little beachside condos. Deku and I had finally gotten one next to Ashido, Jirou, Momo, Kaminari, and Shinsou, each of us living in a line.

As soon as we got inside, I scooped him into my arms bridal style and carried him to our bed. I threw him onto it. He bounced up with a giggle before I hopped in after him.

I laid down on my side and he immediately cuddled up next to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and putting his head on my chest. I smiled and put my arm around him.

"I love you," he said.

I smile and held him tighter, never wanting to let go. We went through so much bullshit to get to this point. There was death and blood and tears.

But we did it.

Together.

So as I curled up closer to him, our body heat mixing together as we lay in silence. Soon, his chest started to rise and fall at a steady pace and I heard his light snoring.

I kissed his forehead and got even closer, matching my breathing with his. "I love you too, Deku," I whispered before closing my eyes and letting the darkness surround me, slipping into a deep sleep.
