The capitol

A few days have gone by since we arrived at the Capitol. The first day the Capitol people took away my medicine and gave me one which I won't need in the arena because we're not allowed any advantages. So far I'm living in luxury, with hot water and rich, filling food. The food actually makes me feel quite ill, but I guess that's because my stomach hasn't adjusted to the Capitol

Today Haymitch is going to show us the videos of all the reapings so we know who to expect. Not many of them are very interesting but I take note of a few in my notebook. I carry it everywhere now .

Girl- Glimmer D1. Giggly and girly and flirtatious, but  a career.

Boy- Cato D2. Full of himself. Menacing and seems reckless. Career

Girl- Clove D2. Looks quite menacing. Has some connection with D2 boy. Career

Girl- Megan D5. I'll remember her as 'Foxface'. Red hair, looks quite clever and good at seeming emotionless.

Boy- Thresh D11. Big, could be good at weapons.

Girl- Rue D11. Twelve. Prim.

I can't really put anything else about the District 11 tribute, Rue. She is my age, and looks too much like Prim.

I'm so tired. The last piece of advice Haymitch gives me is to try and get in with the careers, because they're the strongest. He's wasting his time talking to me but Peeta will probably get in. I won't.

Effie leads Peeta and I to the tribute training centre. It's underground and I hate being underground ever since my father, along with Prim and Katniss's, got killed in a mine explosion. I struggle to not let the tears fall because as we round the corner I can see the other tributes coming into view.

I immediately recognise Cato, Glimmer and Clove. Clove seems amazing at knives, never missing a target. She stops throwing and locks her eyes on mine. She winks menacingly and I look down at the ground, avoiding her gaze. I really don't want an enemy before the games begin.

I notice Cato using the swords and he is good. REALLY good. Glimmer is standing there, watching them. I REALLY don't trust her.

Peeta heads off to the sword fighting where Cato is. Probably going to try and join the careers. I dither for a while. There isn't really anywhere I want to go, apart from the knife throwing area. But Clove is there.

'Hey, shorty!' I hear a voice shout. Clove'Come practise knives with me. Not that you'll be able to do any good throws. Ha!' She finishes her sentence by doing a perfect rally of throws and then going 'Wook at me, I'm Wisty, diswict welve'. She does a rubbish throw, apparently impersonating me.

I'll show her...

Half an hour later we're chatting away with each other. Almost friends. Except she still teases me a lot. 'I'm wickle Wisty and I wan whow wa wife in whe wunwer wames' Then she pretends to trip but still throws the knife expertly onto the target. I guess it's more of a joke now, instead of a menacing taunt. Whenever I glance at Peeta he seems to be getting on equally well with Cato. But I do notice that whenever Peeta's back is turned, Cato aims a sword at his head. So something is definitely up. I'm worried now. I try turning my back to Clove but watching her out of the corner of my eye. She doesn't try anything, just goes 'Hey twelve! Stop turning around!'
