"Serena, Smith wanted to talk to you." Her lips immediately emitted a deep sigh as she jumped down from her seat, walking towards the director's trailer. She was done with all of her scenes, and she really wanted to rest but it seems like she wouldn't be able to do that for the mean time.
"You wanted to see me?"
Ulysses Smith was a family friend and a popular director in the industry, he was very keen on casting Serena for his coming-of-age film to which Serena agreed to, it was more of a favor for a friend, if she's being honest. She had no more interest playing 'teen' roles when she's 5 years past that phase.
"Yes, yes, sit down," he started off, Serena fidgeted on the chair as she waited in anticipation. "Well, I was planning on making a new film, I pitched it with some other producers and writers and they were all on-board with it, I want you to play the lead character."
"Well, what is it about?" She inquires, as Smith handed her a pile of papers compiled in one folder which she assumes as the first draft of the whole script. "It's a remake of The Notebook, and I would really, really appreciate it if you play the role of Allie."
Her eyes widened, The Notebook is one of the most classic films and books ever! Worries almost instantly flooded her mind as she feared for the huge pressure of playing a role that someone like Rachel McAdams played so perfectly.
"I don't think I'm suited for this, Smith." She admits, she didn't even know why The Notebook was up for a remake, the original film was amazing on its own, why make another one? In the movie industry, there's a huge chance remakes won't do as good as the original.
"Believe me, Serena. You're fitted for this role! And we already had a few contacts with the guys we want to play the role of Noah." She chuckles, this man really wanted to do this film, huh? She just stayed quiet and Smith took that as a sign to continue.
"We were thinking Cole Sprouse, or Timothée Chalamet." Her brows raised almost the same time she heard those names, she actually didn't mind playing opposite those two, especially Cole since they've been friends for a long time and Timothee is an amazing actor.
Serena was one foot in with this project, she was fairly interested but she fears she might not do well and disappoint everyone, especially the people who loved the film and the book.
"We were also thinking Harry Styles."
Now, that is one peculiar choice.
