Chapter Twenty-Seven

Rachel's POV:

I'm sitting at my new desk in the lobby of MA's main office looking over all the files my father has sent me over the course of the night. Neither of us have been to sleep since Saturday. It's now Wednessday. I need sleep. Either that or caffien. Yeah, caffien will do.

Jared comes by everyday to check up on me. He brings me all my meals and then is forced to leave again. My father is staying at my mothers house for the time being, and Jared and his father are both surrounding the school grounds to make sure it isn't breached.

My father has sent two guards to follow me around every where I go, which isn't far as I never leave this seat except to use the restroom. I yawn as someone pushes through the front doors of the office. I look up to see Sam, a student who works here after school.

"Hello Sam," I exclaim smiling as best as  can.

"Hey Rachel. How are you today?"

"Tired."

"Maybe you should take a nap."

"Can't. I have to much work here to do. Hey, do you think you could do me a favor and-" Jared walked in then with a coffee and some food. "Never mind."

"I heard your distressed call for coffee. Do you want me to take over here? I have the night off. I have every other night off actually."

"No honey, I've got it. I'll survive. I have work to do anyways."

"You havn't slept in forever Rachel. You need sleep. You can't live off of coffee forever you know. I'll call your dad if I have to. You know that he's probably slept some to right?"

"No need to call him. He's coming in tonight for a meeting with the Principal. I have to be present. Since your off, you can sit in with us. Speak your mind."

"Maybe I will. No, I will. So, what have you decided?"

"You'll just have to wait and see," I say yawning.

"Seriously. Get some sleep."

My dad walked in then and looked over at me and frownd. He walked over to me and took the coffee shoving it in my face. I smiled and chugged half of the schorching hot liquid go down my throat. He then turned toward Jared and glared.

"This how you take care of my little girl? Not let her sleep?"

"No sir. I've been trying to get her to sleep, but she wont listen to me."

"Is this how you take care of yourself Rachel?" He asked shoking me yet again by his protectiveness.

"I'm thinking about the packs right now. There's no time to sleep dad. Look at you though. My assumption that you weren't sleeping was wrong. Am I the only one who hasn't sleep since Saturday?"

"Yes," everyone said, including my guards.

"No one asked you," I exclaimed crossing my arms and walking into the bathroom where I rinsed my face with cold water. God I need to wake up. A few more splashes, and I was as awake as I could be. I sighed and walked back out just as my father was walking into the conferance room.

I followed and sa beside Jared on a couch against the wall where I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes while wiating for the Principle to get into the room. I'm not sure why I thought closing my eyes wouldn't lead to my eveidential failure of staying awake, but I had a hard time waking myself back up when the principle finally arrived.

"Jared, maybe you should take her back to-"

"No. I'm good," I say standing up and pacing. "Keep talking. I'll be fine."

"Ah. Fine. Stacy, there's a problem, and I'm not sure what you want to do with it. I'm leaving it up to you," my dad said looking at our principle.

"Alpha Redwood, everythigns in your hands."

"This is your school. It's in your hands. There's going to be a war against us caused by rouges. They're going to attack here first. We've been watching their movement for the past few days now, and we're not sure as to whether clear the school out or send more troops. I'm leaving this one to you."

"What are the numbers?" she asked looking at my dad who in turn looked at me.

"About 5 to 600," I say off of the top of my muffled head. "The odds are not in our favors, but, in all honesty, I think we can hold them off dad."

"Really? How do you suppose that?"

"Well, we have a lot of specially trained men and women who have been hand picked by self defence teachers to train to be protectors. In each class of graduation, there's about 30. With in the past 25 years, that would make 750 people. Ade another 10 classes onto that it makes 7500.

"Then, we have the training here at our school. If we send a few extra people here to help, the training could help with perimiter watch and some poeple can even teach the children how to fight, even with basic training. It could work you know."

"Is this what you've been doing the last 96 hours?" My dad asked as Jared stared at me with his mouth open wide.

"It is actually dad. I've been reading through every file we have here trying to get this settled. I believe it can work, and I really want to put it into motion. That is, if you're willing to let me try."

"Stacy?"

"Let her do it. She has a good mind. She puts others before herself. I believe she has a good view point on this. I say let's do it, if it's alright with you Alpha."

"I'm ready. Let's do it. Jared, take Rachel to get some sleep. I don't want to see her out of that house for 48 hours, and you're to stay with her. After that 48, we'll get started. And Jared, I don't want her near a computer."
