Chapter Twenty Nine
It's been two weeks since the new schedule has been assigned. I've been working with my father, right by his side, preparing to take over as head Alpha of America. It's kind of like being a queen, but not entirely.
He's been teaching me everything from proper stature, to what to do in difficult situations. It's all so complicated, and too hard to understand at times, but, I'm learning how to manage. Slowly, but surely.
The rouges have been getting closer to the walls, and the teachers are getting nervous, but as long as we're behind the walls, we're safe. Jared's almost never home, except at nights as he's got that time off.
I'm curently sitting at my new desk, typing up a report to send to the administrators of the school, telling them about the evacuation procedure incase we have to get students to safety when my door burst open and my father walks in.
"Rachel, we have a problem. There was a rouge attack in the Lexington area's pack. It killed off all but sixteen of ours. What should we do?"
I save my file and stand up, looking out the window, thinking. I'm only eighteen, (A/N Not sure if I said she was eighteen, but that's how old she is NOW!!!!!!!!) Eighteen year olds shouldn't have to make decisions like this. I'm not even in charge yet.
"I...I don't know," I say honestly, turning back toward him. "I'm not sure dad. What can we do? There isn't much. this attack just proved that if we send the kids home, that they'll be attacked. We can't do that. We need to stick together."
"You're right. But if we have all the guards here to protect them, then there's no one to defend the other teritories." He was right of course. This is so frustrating.
"I think we need to stop being on the defense, and begin taking offencive actions dad. That's the only way we'll win this battle. Call a meeting with the leaders of our guard. We have to attack."

"Quiet," my father said looking at the guards and administrators. "Yesterday, the Lexington Pack was attacked, and all but sixteen were murdered by the rouges. Rachel and I both agree that we need to stop defending, and start attacking. Administratores are to get all students into the tunnels where you will be safest. I want it done within the hour. Go.
"Now, this will not be an easy fight. There's hundreds of them, and all rouges are unperdictable, as you all know. We have to fight this stragetically. I want front lines to advance slowly, as if we're doing a sweep, then, attack. Push through hard without breaking. Give it your best. If we do this by surprise, it might not be as bad as everyone's thinking. Let's do this. Rachel, get into the tunnels. I'll be there shortly."
Nodding my head, I walk toward the exit of the board room. Running through the dark streets, I see the line of teens walking into tehbuilding, mates holding onto each other. I spot the headmaster and walk toward him.
"You have to get them down there faster. They're going to be advanceing soon," I say quietly so no one else could hear me.
"I know Rachel, but this is as fast as we can get them down there without making them freak out. What else am I supposed to do?"
Sighing heavily, I move to the front of the line, telling the students that they have to move faster so we could get everyone down into the tunnels. This only makes them go a little faster. I sigh in exasperation and give up telling the students outside to get into the building so we can close the doors.
"Lock them. Make sure they're bolted down," I say. We're locking the doors to the school now. get here quickly dad. I send through my mind link.
Don't worry about me Rachel. I'm staying in the office. I'll be fine. Just get those kids in the tunnels, and stay safe, you hear me?
Yes sir. I say ending the conection with him, adn breaking into contact with Jared. Stay safe. Don't get hurt and don't underestimate them. Come back to me in one piece, alright?
I'll be alright Rach. I'm not in the first group. I'll be fine. See you soon. He broke the contact with me.
Able to think straight, I start rushing teh kids down the stairs into the tunnels. Within twenty minutes, they're all in the small, cramped room, and I'm locking the metal door, securing us all into the room where no wolf can get in. This is goign to be nasty.
