Chapter Twenty-Three

Hey,people!It's Ally!I'm sorry I haven't updated in a LONG time.I've been extremely busy with school and stuff and my main focus has been trying to get my grades up. Exciting news: I got my Science grade up from a D to a C! It was pretty close to a B actually. Okay,well, here's the chapter.Enjoy and vote fan and comment!

Chapter Twenty-Three

 Katie's POV:

"What about the female?What are we going to do with her?"A man's voice woke me from my sleep.I lifted up my head off of Erik's chest and looked around.Nobody was in the room,so the sound had to be coming from outside the door.

"Once he's gone,her wolf won't be able to process the world around her without her mate,so there wouldn't be any need to kill her.We'd just give her back to her pack. If her wolf can't process,she won't be able to process. The Woodsburrow family will be so worried about taking care of her that their pack duties will be rushed and forgotten.The pack will fall apart and then we'll be able to destroy them."Another voice came.They were close to the door.

I processed what they had just talked about and gasped.

They were going to kill Erik.

Fear ran through me and I gripped Erik's arm tightly.He shot up and winced as my nails dug into him.

"What's wrong?"He asked,quietly as I slowly let go of his arm.He rubbed it gently and looked at me.

"They're coming and...I think they're going to kill you."He looked down at the concrete ground and sighed.

"We should've known this was coming."

"Erik..."I wrapped my arms around him as silent tears ran down my face.Why did this have to happen to us?

"Katie,listen to me.Don't do anything that will tick them off.Don't scream or try to fight them when they  go to kill me.Just stay silent and stay where you are.We don't need them killing you right away.If there's any chance that the pack can get to you,I want you to stay alive.You need to stay alive.Your family needs you.Promise you'll try to stay alive?"He looked me in the eyes and I slowly nodded although I wasn't sure I'd be able to keep that promise.He hugged me tight to his chest as I sobbed.This wasn't happening.It couldn't be.

"I want you to remember the waterfall.Where we first met.That day.Everytime you think of it,remember how much I love you.Okay?I'm always going to be here even when you can't see me.I'll always be there for you."He whispered closing his eyes.I nodded and closed mine remembering that day.It was a day I'd never forget.

I heard the door open and Erik released me from his arms.I lifted my head and looked towards the door.Two men with the most evil smiles I'd ever seen,were standing in the door way.

"No."I choked.Erik gave me a kiss and looked me in the eyes.

"Remember what you promised."I looked down as the men walked towards us.

"Come on,boy.It's time to go to go to sleep."One of the men said and they both laughed.Erik ran his hand through my hair.

"I love you,Katie."He whispered and stood up.

"I love you,Erik.So much."He smiled and the men grabbed each of his arms.I watched as they took him out of the room.

The pain started about 15 minutes later.It lasted for about two hours and then finally stopped.

That was when everything stopped.The whole world stopped and every happy feeling in my body stopped.There was nothing but misery left.I couldn't even breathe.

My wolf was crying.

Crying out for her mate,who was gone.

Forever.

A/N:

I know it's short...and sad...very sad...and I'm sorry!I promise the next chapter will be longer...or well MY next chapter!Hope you guy liked it.It sure put me in a depressing mood.Sorry if it put you in one too.Next chapter is Hailie's and it'll porbably be in either Jared or Rachel's POV,but I'm not sure. :) I hope you're liking the book!
