Chapter 36: Lint

Harry's P.O.V

"Where we going?" Aria whined for the hundredth time.

"It's a surprise" I replied as I turned on the radio, hearing a familiar song come on.

"Harry. Harry. Harry!" She pleaded, poking my arm. I grinned at her and watched her furious expression crack slightly.

"If you keep bugging me imma turn this car right back around"

"You sound like my mom" she said, sticking out her tongue, causing me to do the same.

We spent the rest of the car ride talking and laughing. This is what I wanted life to be like.

"Take me home I wanna ride in, lose control, ride in" she sang as I hummed and tapped my feet to the beat.

"Annnnndddd we are here" I said, covering her eyes as she gasped.

"What are you doing!!!"

"You can't see or else it will be ruined, princess" she sighed.

I went around the back and opened the truck doors. There was a blanket, snacks, drinks and fairy lights. Perfect. A drive in movie.

I picked her up in my arms and plopped her inside the back of the truck, watching as she opened her eyes.

"This is...this is...wow" she stuttered, "the perfect date" I grinned.

"You fucking bastard, I love you so much" she said as she tackled me into the grass. We both froze. Did she just say....

"I'm sorry, I-I'm rushing into things, I just-" she started but I cut off with a loving kiss.

"I love you too princess"

We lay there for a while, panting as she lay her head on my chest. The starting credits began to roll and we both jumped up in surprise.

"Come on" I whispered and pulled her into the fortress of blankets and pillows. She lay curled up on my chest, my arms holding her waist.

"Thank you" she mumbled and I kissed the top of her hair.

"Anything for you princess. Anything for you"

We watched the movie in a comfortable silence. At least she did. Most of the time, I was glancing down at her and watched as she pretends not to notice my gaze.

The end credits came too quickly as the movie finished, applause thundering around us. We lay there, her head on my chest, my head in her hair and I realised something. All this time with Ginny, I had been the one putting all the effort while she sat here rejecting me. It was completely one sided.

Now, with Ari, I put a lot more effort because I knew she was doing the same. She always tried to make me feel happy, it warmed heart to know that she returned the love I gave her.

"Hey princess?" I asked and she looked up at me, smiling as she pecked my lips.

"What's up?"

"Do you...want to be my girlfriend?"

She turned her head and kissed me long and hard, grinning.

"Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes" she said between kisses.

I pressed my lips to hers, sucking on her bottom lip. She fought like the rebel she is but eventually gave in, letting me devour her. I lay her down gently as I continued kissing her, my arms holding up my weight as I slammed the truck doors shut with my foot.
