38~Within the Shadows

The day was somehow silent for Conan, he wasn't able to sit still and listen to the discussion being held by the two FBI Agents.  

He sighed as he left the place to go outside and decided to walk around when Kaito suddenly grabbed his hand. 

Conan looked at him curiously as he saw Ran and Uncle Mouri follow behind him. 

~ Conan's POV ~ 

I gave an innocent look at Kaito as he carried me in his arms. 

He smiled softly as he started walking near the side of the street. 

" Mouri-san was given all the details about the organization...and..I think it would help if we could track down their real hideout..." He whispered under my ears. 

I simply nodded as we walked around the place and explored the various shops. 

( I never thought this place was so classy..I guess that's because I've never been to this part of the district before. ) 

I lowered my head as I leisurely enjoyed my time with the others while it lasts... 

~ Haibara's POV ~ 

Professor Agasa worked on some of his inventions as I did my usual routine while keeping an eye on Pandora, locked and hidden behind one of the shelves. 

I looked at it anxiously while eating some snacks as I tried to remember more information about the jewel. 

( It could grant them anything they please..but it is very unpredictable as to what will happen afterwards... ) 

I thought to myself before the jewel suddenly glowed brightly. 

" What in the-"  

I quickly covered my eyes as Pandora's light slowly died out and only showed a small glimmer. 

( What just happened..? Did something trigger Pandora to react that way? ) 

" I have to tell this to Kudo and Kuroba later..." I muttered to myself, still surprised as to what happened. 

~ Conan's POV ~ 

( What on earth...? What's going on over there? ) 

I frantically looked around the place as I saw people talking around each other with a grim expression on their faces before a sudden shriek came from one of them. 

Uncle Mouri quickly checked the situation and saw a dead body near the pavement. 

Kaito rushed to his side while I looked near an alleyway by myself without anyone noticing. 

I suddenly saw two men in black slowly approaching as I quickly hid myself in between the trash bins. 

( It's Gin and Vodka....! What do I do?! ) 

I steadied my breathing, trying my best to not get caught. 

I stayed quiet as I carefully put a tracker on them as they passed by without noticing me. 

I felt my nerves calm down before I noticed a red glow emanating from me. 

( W-what...is happening to me..? ) 

I felt my eyelids become heavy as I slowly became drowsy and eventually, became unconscious.
