●A Silent Detective●

40~Voices

The days soon passed as the two FBI Agents and the others planned a way to finally end the Black Organization once and for all. 

They were all getting anxious and impatient as to what will happen. On the other hand, Shinichi had a lot of difficulty sleeping and was constantly more silent and spaced out than usual which made the magician worry about him a lot. 

The detective reassured Kaito many times that he was fine while he kept hidden the fact that there is definitely something wrong with him. 

~ Shinichi"s POV ~ 

I sat myself to the side as I gathered my thoughts silently and continued to stay in my spot before someone nudged me. 

" Hey, the meeting is already over...We can go now." The magician said as I looked at him with a blank expression on my face. 

( Oh no, I spaced out again...I should really stop doing that all the time...) 

" Alright, you go ahead without me. There's something I still need to do." I said seriously, in an almost insistent manner. 

" Okay, just don't strain yourself too much..." The magician reminded me with a sigh as he left the room. 

I soon approached the two FBI Agents and discussed to them about another important information that I have gathered for the past few days. 

" I see....so their location is near an abandoned tunnel." Jodie nodded to herself. 

" There is also another thing that you might want to know..." I slowly said with hesitation. 

" What is that?" Akai asked as he looked to the side. 

" I deduced that they are after a jewel called Pandora." I replied as the two FBI Agents looked at me with a surprised expression on their face.  

They exchanged a nervous gaze with one another as they gestured me to follow them near a smaller room, hidden behind a wall. 

" We have investigated the Black Organization for years now...One of the things that we have gathered through all the years is that they were planning to use a very rare object as a lethal weapon.Some say that it's one of the most dangerous artifacts that was discovered or something that was thought to be a mere myth or legend..." Akai explained as Jodie gave me a folder that was labeled as classified information. 

I scanned the writings contained within the folder before I noticed a word encircled with a red pen. 

" Pandora...It's Pandora." I muttered to myself as I looked at an image of the ominous red jewel. 

" We presumed that it was just a rare jewel that was coincidentally called as Pandora but...we have noticed that the jewel's previous owners were either traumatized or driven mad...or suddenly committed suicide after taking ownership of the jewel...so we kept a close eye on it before it suddenly disappeared." Jodie explained further as she pointed out the key points  that were written on the folder. 

( So that's what they were planning to do with the jewel....I had no idea...) 

I thanked the two of them as they both reminded me to not tell anyone about what we've spoken about the jewel before I left and went to Professor Agasa's house. 

I spent my time talking to Haibara about what the two agents told me as she led me to her lab where she hid the jewel. 

" I hid Pandora here before something...unexpected happened to it." The scientist mentioned, uncertain as to what my reaction would be. 

" What happened?" I asked worriedly. 

" It glowed brightly and slowly became normal again.." She replied plainly. 

" I think it's best if it's kept here." I mentioned to her before I made my way to my home. 

I locked myself inside my room as the voices suddenly began to grow louder...with me slowly drifting to sleep. A red glow soon enveloped me as I slowly closed my eyes....still aware about the voices that were constantly calling my name....
