*SATURDAY NIGHT*

"You do know where you're going right?" I asked Niall who was busy driving.

"Yeah. It's just that the road looks different at night... it confuses me." He chuckled nervously.

"It's alright. I've never been to a picnic at night before so I'm quite excited." I smiled reassuringly.

"That's good. Actually, Louis insisted that he'd tag along but I know that he would just annoy the heck out of you." He explained.

"Yes he certainly would."

"He said that our friendship was over just because I said no but he says that all the time especially when I hang out with you instead of him." Niall shrugged.

"It must be pretty tiring to have hung out with him since you were kids. I mean, aren't you tired of keeping up with the guy?" I asked.

"Nah, he's a lot of fun as much as he is annoying... I kind of got used to it over the years." He says.

Stealing Niall's friendship will not be that simple after all...

"Finally we've reached our destination!" Niall proudly stated.

******

"This is nice. I've never been to this park before." I sat down the blanket that we laid out on the grass along with the picnic basket that he brought.

"I don't see any people lurking around though." I briefly scanned the area.

"It's better to have some kind of privacy. It's like we have the whole place to ourselves, don't you think?" He smiled.

"Well, I do like some peace and quiet." I smiled back.

"So, I'd like to know you better. What's your life story?" I asked.

"I'm a pretty normal nice guy on the surface but once you really get to know me, you'll realize that I'm not that 'nice' at all..." He pulled out a bottle of champagne from the basket along with two wine glasses.

"That's real fancy." I eyed the bottle of champagne.

"But what do you mean by what you just said?" About not being nice, I mean.

Is he just putting up a nice guy front or---

"I'm pretty sure you'll find out soon enough if you stick around me more often. Louis is the only one who knows my deepest, darkest secret. He's a pretty loyal guy despite his meddlesome character." He says.

I took a sip from my glass of champagne that Niall just filled up.

So he's not your average sweet guy huh? Interesting...

"Oh I plan to stick around a bit longer if ever that's okay with you." Partly because I want to know what his secret is and partly because I want to make Louis jealous of our newfound friendship... or whatever this is that we have right here.

I mean, it's too early to put a label on it so yeah... I need to hang out with him more often.

I decided to lay on my back so I could gaze into the stars and Niall followed suit by lying right beside me.

"Are you kidding me? You can stick around for as long as you want! To be honest, you're the only girl in school that I find rather interesting. Okay, now it's your turn to tell me your story." He said.

"Well, you know, I'm just your average reject with a few secrets of my own that I'd rather keep to myself. Sometimes, I think that I'm not being truly honest with myself and I don't really like to fit in with crowd." I sighed.
