*SATURDAY NIGHT*

"Thanks for the invite." Bridgit flashed me a smile.

"Even though it's just an amateur band playing..." She mumbled.

"Luke gave me free tickets and said that I can bring a plus one as long as it's not a guy." I explained.

"I'm flattered, really. It's just that... how do I say this?" She studied the confused look on my own face.

"I lost interest in you like decades ago. I mean, you're pretty and all but... I just don't think it'll work out between us. Sorry." She apologized.

Is she rejecting me?

"Oh you think this is a date? Well, it's not. This is just a friendly hang out." I realized what she was thinking.

"Oh. Okay then. Still, I'd like you to know that... it's just not meant to be." She sighed.

Okay... it's not like I was interested in her in the first place although she's making it sound like it's the other way around.

"I understand." Someone had to be the mature one, I guess.

"Also, I'm backing down because it's my own choice. It has NOTHING to do with my brother at all." I wonder why she's emphasizing the word 'nothing'.

"Sure." I nodded anyway.

"Good evening, everyone!" Some guy with a green hair said through the microphone.

I don't know how Luke's band managed to get a gig at a local pub but I guess I'll see for myself in awhile when they start playing if they really do have what it takes to perform for a small crowd.

"How you all doing tonight?" The drummer asked.

"Ooh, the drummer's cute!" Bridgit pointed out.

"He's alright." I shrugged.

"I bet Luke has something to say..." The dark-haired bass player grinned.

"Yeah, um, I'd like to make a quick shout out to a special someone who came to watch us tonight." Luke scanned the crowd's faces and when he spotted me, he says,

"Cher, this song's for you." He winks my way.

"Are you cheating with Robbie with that guy?" Bridgit asked.

"No." I denied.

"If it were me, I'd dump the jock and marry the singer in a heart beat." She joked.

"I'm into singers..." She confessed.

Then that makes two of us.

Zayn has a really good voice too and it's one of the reasons why I dated him.

"But I guess I'm into drummers too." Bridgit can't stop staring at the guy with the red bandana on his forehead.

"It started with a picture,
Those messages you sent to me.
You're like the perfect mixture
Of Megan Fox and Katy P.

It's such a sick obsession,
And now you've got the best of me.
I've got the worst intentions,
So call me over and set me free.

I can give you what you want."

Luke began singing and I listened carefully to the lyrics this time.

Does he really think that I look like a combination of Megan Fox and Katy Perry?

This made me wonder...

"It's taking me over.
I don't wanna play this game no more.
All you gotta do is tell me right now,
You want me right now, come on.
Give me the green light.
We could have all night
If you just say the word.
Tell me it's alright.
Give me the green light.

You got me where you want me,
I'm hanging on your every word.
It's such a twisted story,
How you got me,
Now you got me.

So let me give you what you need."

Luke didn't take his eyes off of me for one second.

"I kind of like the song." I told Bridgit.

"Really? Are you that naive? This song's about him asking you if it's alright to have sex." She said pretty bluntly.

"I know." She just stared at me like I grew another head or something.

"The fun part's when I tell him a big 'NO' right after the show." I smirked.

"Oh." Then she laughs at my cruel intention.

******

"Nice song." I told Luke when they finished playing.

"So? Will you give me the green light tonight?" He tried to flirt.

"N---" He quickly covered my mouth before I could fully reject his offer and then he drags me out the back door and corners me to the wall.

"What are you doing?" He finally uncovered my mouth.

"Dragging you out through the back door where it's poorly lighted so that no one can see what we're about to do..." He placed a hand on the wall in level with my head.

His face was only an inch away from mine which made it rather difficult to breathe and to move.

"And just what are we about to do?" I asked the obvious even though I already knew the answer to my question.

"Were you even listening to the song that I was singing awhile ago?" He squinted his eyes at me which made me squint back for no apparent reason.

"Uh-huh."

"Then let me ask you one more time, Cher Lloyd, will you give me the green light tonight? I want a proper answer." He demanded.

"I'm not ready for this."

"Why not? It's the first time that---"

"Don't you mean the second time around?" I corrected him.

"No, walking doesn't count." He shook his head.

"Wait, what?" Now I'm confused.

We were drunk, not 'walking' during intercourse. That's just hard.

"I'm talking about letting me drive you home for the very first time. Just give me the green light already." He pleaded.

Oh.

"Bridgit said that you were singing about sex."

"What?! Ew, that's just malicious." He made a disgusted face.

"So you don't want to have sex with me?" I clarified.

"Of course I do... but not until we're married. It can wait. For now, I just want to drive you home for the first time ever and then cuddle with you until we fall asleep." He smiled.

I think this is the first time that someone has ever told me such a sweet thing.

"I can't. I have a ride back with Bridgit. Her brother is picking us up." As much as I would want to go back to the apartment with him, I just can't.

I just realized tonight that I'm becoming more and more attached to this kid and being the cold-hearted person that I am, I'm not going to make his fantasies come true.

"See you later, Lucas." I pushed pass him then returned back inside.

Love can only bring you pain and sadness anyway...

That's what I want to warn him about.
