CHAPTER 32: Hanging by a Thread

Just one more step and I can end this. But it was Darren who saved me this time.
I picked up his call.
"Come home, baby," he begs. "Please."
He knows. I nod even if he doesn't see me. Fighting more prickling tears against the cold pouring rain, I step out of the bridge. He stopped me from doing something stupid.
My knees went jelly and I released a shaky breath of relief. "I'm coming home."
